Never Ceese by Sue Dent
Chapter 2 by Dawn
Peter Drummond is walking his herd of goats near a castle that is likened to the times of Robin Hood and King Arthur. He sees it as a sinister place. He blames those inhabiting the castle for their disappearing animals….he decides that he must confront them.
Richard, inside the castle, toys with his computer as he drinks blood from a cup. He has been a vampire for over two centuries and he has acquired the blood he is drinking by claiming he is a doctor procuring blood for his mother’s blood transfusion.
His Mama, named Penelope, is not actually his mother at all, but they refer to her as such to explain the ever growing age difference between them. Penelope is 82 and Richard is 24.
