At Mama’s bedroom, Penny asks Richard to sit down with her on the bed. Penny admits that she is very sick, cancer in fact, and that Ceese can’t help her. She’s kept him in the dark for so long thinking it would be easier, now that Ceese is here. Richard, distraught, doesn’t understand how Ceese being around makes any difference. Penny explains that he has to take care of Ceese, but Richard assumes she’s joking. Richard tries to explain to Penny that it makes no sense, Ceese hates him and he isn’t exactly fond of her.
