Woot Avatar is finally here. That’s all that really needs to be said this week, but the other movie looks pretty interesting too… too bad it’s not a nationwide release (jerks).
Avatar (Nationwide)
Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi (PG-13)
(From Comingsoon.net) The story’s hero is Jake Sully, a former Marine confined to a wheelchair. Bitter and disillusioned, he’s still a warrior at heart. All Jake ever wanted was something worth fighting for, and he finds it in the place he least expected: on a distant world. Jake has been recruited to join an expedition to the moon Pandora, which corporate interests are strip-mining for a mineral worth $20 million per kilogram on Earth. To facilitate their work, the humans use a link system that projects a person’s consciousness into a hybrid of humans and Pandora’s indigenous humanoids, the Na’vi. This human-Na’vi hybrid – a fully living, breathing body that resembles the Na’vi but possesses the individual human’s thoughts, feelings and personality – is known as an “avatar.”
The New Daughter (Limited)
NO POSTER AVAILABLE
Thriller (NA)
(From Comingsoon.net) Kevin Costner plays John James, a single father who moves to a farm with his two kids after a painful divorce. Soon, his daughter (Ivana Baquero of “Pan’s Labyrinth”) starts behaving ominously, and Dad begins to suspect that the burial mound in a nearby field might have something to do with it.
I’m really sad that there is so little information on The New Daughter and that it’s a limited release, but Avatar really makes up for that. I am definitely going to see Avatar tomorrow.
Are you going to see Avatar and what have you heard about it?
hmm good question. I'm not sure. It probably was a video game.
Was that a video game or anything first? Seems to be the trend
