New Image of Karl Urban in the Upcoming Sci-Fi Actioner DREDD via The Daily BLAM
Urban is portraying Judge Dredd, the futuristic lawman of post-apocalyptic Mega-City One, in the upcoming comic book adapted film which also stars Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey.
DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban ) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. ‘Man of Steel’ Countdown: Possible Plot Synopsis and ‘Superman: Birthright’ Connections via Movies.com
The following should be considered RUMOR only. It’s from a scan of a page in Production Weekly, which is an entertainment industry publication, with information about the plot and production schedule for Superman: The Man of Steel (aka “Autumn Frost”).
The snippet reads:
Clark Kent is a freelance reporter in his early 20’s, traveling all around the world covering various news stories. However, Kent is forced to fly back into action to attain a fleeing assassin instead of covering an ethnic conflict between the Ghuri and Turaaba clans in West Africa. Upon his return to form, Kent returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and become the hero he was born to be.
The description is amazingly close to the first several issues of the 12-part origin story “Superman: Birthright” by Mark Waid and Leinil Francis Yu from 2003-2004.

Mass Effect Movie…Confirmed! via ComicBookMovie.com
Legendary Pictures is responsible for many modern-day masterpieces, like Batman Begins, Watchmen, 300, and The Dark Knight. Weird…Zach Snyder did two of those movies. Since a Mass Effect film would technically be a CBM, would Zach Snyder possibly be in the running for the directors position? That’s just speculation, but is it a possibility?
