ELLEN PAGE TALKS ABOUT INCEPTION

Ellen Page never doubted that the writer-director of “Inception” (starring Leonardo DiCaprio) could make frantic chases through multiple layers of dreams seem clear: “Of course. It’s Christopher Nolan!” The film’s trippiness and visuals will get the attention, but it’s the emotional spine and ideas Page is most excited about … and there’s a different kind of buzz she’s passionate about sustaining.

Q: It seems to me the film’s core is the notion that thoughts can transform and even destroy you.

A: And they can perpetuate our personal suffering. And the elusiveness of all love. Sure, shooting this movie made me think more about my dreams. But what “Inception” made me think of more, especially because of books I was reading at the time, is my awake world and the elusiveness of all life. Read more here

BRAD PITT CONFIRMED FOR WORLD WAR Z

We’ve known for a few years now that Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B had picked up the rights to Max Brooks’ book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, but it was never really clear what his involvement might be. The movie has been through a couple of screenwriters, and last we heard Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) was attached to direct, but that announcement was made back in 2008.

It’s been a while since we’ve had any sort of update on it. This week, straight from the Comic-Con floor, Max Brooks himself revealed for the first time that Forster will still direct the movie, and that Brad Pitt will star in it as well.

ZACK SNYDER CURRENTLY WRITING SCRIPT FOR 300 PREQUEL

Ever since we first heard that Frank Miller was working on a 300 sequel, an immediate question arose: Would Zack Snyder be adapting it as a movie? After Snyder confirmed that he was definitely interested in the project, the question then became: When the hell is Frank Miller gonna get this thing done? It’s taken three years, but Xerxes has officially started its development from graphic novel to film.

Despite the book not yet having a release date (it should be available in the next few months), Zack Snyder has already started writing the screenplay for the film adaptation, along with his 300 collaborator Kurt Johnstad.
