James Cameron, del Toro collaborating on 3-D Lovecraft film
When Guillermo del Toro announced at Comic-Con that he’d be developing a “scary” version of The Haunted Mansion and a “very strange” adaptation of Pinocchio, he also hinted at a third project—an all-new horror film he’d start directing in May. But what he never hinted was that in order to pull that project off, he’d be bringing in—James Cameron!
Grant Morrison drops hints about his new Western indie flick, Sinatoro
Did you know All-Star Superman scribe Grant Morrison has written a psychedelic Western inspired in part by Red Dead Redemption? Well, now you do! io9 spoke to Morrison and director Adam Egypt Mortimer about their upcoming film, entitled Sinatoro.

Lost’s Damon Lindelof may write Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel
Looks like Damon Lindelof’s first major solo screenwriting gig, now that he’s wrapped up the mysteries of Lost, will be to go back before one of sci-fi’s greatest movie franchises even began—because he just closed a deal to work on the long-in-development Alien prequel, which 20th Century Fox hopes (and WE hope) Ridley Scott will direct.
Strangely, the plot Lindelof pitched to Scott and the studio could, once the script is finished, end up being a freestanding, non-franchise sci-fi film. No decision will be made until Lindelof turns it in.
What do you think of del Toro and James Cameron working on a Lovecraft film?
I would love for Lindelof to do an Alien prequel….what do you think?
