From Ross Miller at Screen Rant: Peter Jackson Talks ‘Temeraire’ Adaptation
With 2009 being a very busy year for Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson (directing The Lovely Bones, developing The Hobbit, overseeing Tintin and District 9), it’s hard to believe the man has had any time to sleep, much less think about MORE projects. But apparently that’s exactly what’s he’s doing, with an adaptation of the fantasy book series Temeraire on his mind.
Jackson actually acquired the rights to the series back in 2006 (five books are out currently, with nine being planned in total), and since then he’s been slowly developing ideas for it, although obviously he’s had other things on his plate. What might surprise you is that Jackson actually has the small screen in mind for Temeraire, as opposed to giving it the full big-screen cinematic treatment. I can guess that he originally planned to turn it into a full feature film, but things change and he now sees a miniseries as the best way to adapt it.

Are John Malkovich And Anne Hathaway Both Flying Into Spidey 4?
The Spider-Man 4 rumors have our bullshit detectors tingling again, but this time it’s not about Black Cat. Rumor has it John Malkovich is joining the cast as the leotard wearing, winged Vulture. And he’s bringing a Vultress.
Movieline is reporting that if all negotiations go as planned, John Malkovich will be playing the bald and pissed off Vulture in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4. All right, fine, another bad guy in the mix. But wait they’re not done yet. According to the site, Anne Hathaway is not in negotiations to be the Black Cat, as we’d previously heard. Instead it’s much, much worse.
“The 27-year-old actress is currently the top choice for Felicia Hardy, who’d been long-rumored as one of the new characters in this installment. (Other names bandied about for the role included Julia Stiles, Rachel McAdams, and Romola Garai.) However, unlike in the comic books, this Felicia Hardy doesn’t transform into the Black Cat. Instead, Raimi’s Felicia will become a brand-new superpowered figure called the Vulturess.”

I am not a fan of Nic Cage, so I’m probably going to pass on this one. I don’t think they should even be making a Spiderman 4, so Anne Hathaway as a villain can’t make it any worse. And Peter Jackson is a very busy man, but at least his stuff looks good.
What do you think of the trailer? What about a brand new villain for Spiderman?
