MOVIE NEWS TAKE TWO 10/21 VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT, WOLFMAN TRAILER

Chris Massoglia is “The Vampire’s Assistant”

teenhollywood.com

17-year-old Minnesota native Chris Massoglia admits that “blood and guts” movies aren’t his thing but he’s very happy with his lead role as Darren Shan in Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant based upon three of the popular novels. We had a great chat with the cute dark-haired actor about the Halloween spookiness of being in a grave and coffin for the film, working with characters that aren’t really there on set and how he and co-star Josh Hutcherson had a blast playing basketball and buddying around In Louisiana while shooting the film.

Bad Movies Done Right — Have A Howling Good Halloween

movies.insidepulse.com

Ever since Little Red Riding Hood went prancing off into the woods only to come across an anthropomorphic wolf with a penchant for cross-dressing, werewolf stories have permeated popular culture like a fart in a crowded room. Unfortunately, the number of good werewolf movies can be counted on one hand. Lycanthropes are often the subject of some of the worst films this side of Plan 9 from Outer Space.

Here are few werewolf films (both good and bad) to get you in the mood for Halloween:

Project: Metalbeast – 1995
Howling III: The Marsupials – 1987
The Monster Squad – 1987

Second Trailer for ‘The Wolfman’

screenrant.com

A second trailer for The Wolfman has appeared online and it is a much better cut than the first Wolfman trailer we got back in August – but does it give away too much?

The Wolfman stars Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt. The framework for this new take on the classic tale has Del Toro playing an English nobleman who returns home to investigate his brother’s savage murder, only to discover that the killer is more than a mere man. The remake is being directed by Joe Johnston, who will also helm The First Avenger: Captain America.

The Vampire’s Assistant Launches “iFreak” iPhone Application

In case you’ve forgotten, Saw VI isn’t the only genre film opening this weekend. Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant will also hit theatres on October 23rd, and in celebration of the upcoming release, Universal is allowing fans to join the freak show through the launch of a brand new “iFreak” iPhone and iPod Touch application.

The “iFreak” application allows users to take a photo (or select one from an existing album) and transform into their favorite freak from the film, including the bearded lady Madame Truska, Loafhead, Gertha Teeth, Mr. Tiny, Wolfman, Rhamus Two-Bellies, Evra Von, and Larten Crepsley. Users can mix and match characters and add endless features until they are completely satisfied. Once a freak inside and out, the user can name the creation, save it to their iPhone and iPod Touch, email, and share their new identity through social networking outlets.
