We are just a few months away from the November release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part one and more danger than Harry, Ron, and Herminoe can shake a wand at. We’ve seen a slew of promotional film stills, which only serve to stir up anticipation and curiosity about the first part of the final chapter of the beloved mystical series.
So far, we’ve seen a bleach-haired Rhys Ifans as Xenophilius Lovegood (Luna’s father), Bill Nighy as Rufus Scrimgeour, and Braveheart’s David O’Hara as Albert Runcorn. But is Rufus Scrimgeour a friend or a foe? We see him again in today’s pics.

‘X-Men: First Class’ Has Started Production, Possible Logo Unveiled

Soon after rounding up the main cast, “X-Men: First Class” has entered production in England. XMF reported that the movie commenced the principal photography late August at Pinewood Studios and surrounding locales in the country.
The site further informed that the first scenes being filmed see [SPOILER ALERT!] “Charles Xavier attending Oxford University [and] debating the mutant phenomenon, and Erik Lensherr dealing with the horrifying events in Auschwitz via a flashback sequence.”

Natalie Portman Offered Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’

After Angelina Jolie exited Alfonso Cuarón’s 3D sci-fi thriller Gravity, the search for a replacement began. Last week, Latino Review learned that the producers behind the project were “interest[ed] in meeting Rachel Weisz for the role.” However, Deadline found out that Weisz was just one of the many names on the producer’s list of actresses they’ve talked to or screen tested: Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde, Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively.
Now Risky Business has learned that Natalie Portman has been offered the role, as the studio approved the actress without requiring a screen test in the wake of the early Black Swan reviews. According to the report, Portman is expected to read the latest version of the script this week and make her decision shortly.

Most werewolves in the magical world of the movies are male – and there’s a good reason for that. Then again, what are you more scared of? A big hairy monsterman? Or a tiny hairy woman with a baaaad temper?
There’s no escaping it – most werewolves are male. Yes, you do find some female werewolves in literature (writer Angela Carter was partial to them) but with two exceptions you never find them on the silver screen.
In a film, a woman is as likely to get bitten as a man. Why not? She’s just as likely to walk around in dark dangerous places at night – especially in the world of the film plot.
Yet the female werewolf is all but invisible in the movies. Unless she’s curled up and growling in a dark wolf den, biding her time…

Ridley Scott Wants Gemma Arterton for ‘Alien’ Prequel

Ridley Scott is apparently looking for a female star for its upcoming project “Alien”. In an interview with Sunday Times, Gemma Arterton says that the helmer wants to have a meeting with her for the prequel to the 1979 film.
“Ridley Scott saw ‘[The Disappearance of] Alice Creed’ and loved it. He wants me to meet for ‘Aliens: The Remake’, or something,” the actress states. Since this casting is still in very early stage, there has been no further detail on the role that may be tackled by Arterton.
