Ben ‘Boss’ Dalton is a member of the Exiled Guardians motorcycle club. He met Lexi at the clubhouse a few months ago. They shared a dance and they both wanted more, but he knew she was too sweet and innocent for the likes of him. He pushed her away, hurting her feelings in the process. It was the right thing to do, but he can’t get her out of his head.
Now, he finds himself watching over her. He follows her to make sure she makes it home safely and hangs around her college campus hoping to catch a glimpse of her.
However, when she walks into his tattoo shop and asks another man to tattoo her, is the step too far. He takes over her tattoo session. The only mark she will wear is the one put in by his hand. He can’t stop with just a tattoo though. He’s ready to claim her body and soul and let the world know she belongs to him.
I’m never much of a fan of short stories, but this wasn’t bad considering the length. You felt like you got to know the characters and there was a small bit of backstory as well. Granted, there was nothing all that deep about this book. It was basically a couple fighting themselves and hooking up.
I found the way Ben kept changing his mind from pushing her away to claiming her in the blink of an eye was annoying and unrealistic. Pick a lane and make up your mind, dude.
There was nothing remarkable about Lexi. I didn’t like or dislike her, she was just there. A typical college girl with a crush.
This book was okay for a short story, but there really isn’t much to it. There really can’t be at this length. It was a nice way to spend a couple hours though.
