Last Friday night we, OBS, had the opportunity to chat with Maggie Stiefvater. It was a rousing success. Many of you showed up and had great questions. Thanks for your participation.
Here are a few highlight from Maggie:
Krystal: How does it feel having a hit book on the bookshelves? are you thrilled to achieve your goal of writting
Maggie Stiefvater: Okay, it’s really awesome some days, and other days, it’s really strange. I had someone who didn’t know who I was recommend SHIVER to me in a bookstore the other day.
Laura: Maggie, how many books are planned in your Faerie series? (i loved Ballad) James, sigh, james:)
Maggie Stiefvater: Yay, thank you, Laura. James is near and dear to my heart, the little a$$hole. 🙂 In my head, that is a five book arc, but there are some other books ahead of it in line to be written first.
Maggie Stiefvater: A lot of people go AUGH! is this the end of Dee’s story? And nooo I never thought of it that way at all.
Kaila W.: Loved the Linger cover! And first couple of sentences. Do you get much input in the covers? Or are they a complete surprise?
Maggie Stiefvater: I get the right of refusal on the covers, which means I can go ;LKASDJFL;KASJDFL;ASKDJFL;KAJSDFLK;JADSF if I hate the concept when they first show it to me.
Maggie Stiefvater: Luckily, the SHIVER cover was pretty much what you see now, except the wolf’s head was kind of turned, and originally there were not as many brambles at the bottom. I thought it was excellent.
