This Sarah Dessen classic was just begging for me to gush and wonder over the covers! I’m a die-hard Sarah Dessen fan, so obviously I had to have a whack at it. Or should I say listen at it? Yeah, that was a terrible joke.
Just Listen is about a girl named Annabel struggling to come to terms and confront what happened to over the past year. With a guy Owen, she’ll live again.
United States
I’ve seen this one so many times that it’s a classic. I mean, how could it not be a classic? Simple half of a girl’s torso against a white background, this cover is just charming.
Spanish
I like the coloring in this cover. Everything’s so colorful yet muted at the same time. It’s in-your-face yet subdued, the perfect description of this book as well.
Portuguese
This cover makes so much sense once you read the book. It’s one of those inside jokes, but not. It’s great.
French
I don’t really get the lily pads, but this cover reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I’m just sayin’! It’s so random, yet it’s not.
Dutch
I really love the font, but I hate how Annabel is portrayed. She’s not uppity or cliquey or mean. She’s just Annabel, and that’s what I like about her.
What do you think about the mint chocolate chip aka French cover? Think it’s kind of realistic?
