Designer Tom Ledin said this about the shirt: “I was super pumped about what a badass the character Katniss is while reading the Hunger Games… I was about 90% done with the second book when I started designing it, and I had to ask my son (who had already read them all) if the design made any sense. He was like, “Well, there’s no sports teams, and they’re pretty frugal, so I don’t think they’d be wasting resources making t-shirts…but yeah, I guess it makes sense.” So, he green-lighted the project…thanks buddy! ”

Entertainment Weekly is my God because they keep putting out official and awesome photos of The Hunger Games. Seriously, the more I see these photos the more I am pleasantly surprised about where they’re going with the movie.
District 12 looks grimy yet homey. I really like where they’re going with the various style choices. What do you think? Are these photos actually doing the books justice?

‘Hunger Games’ movie being shot in uptown Charlotte via The Charlotte Observer
Production for the upcoming movie ‘Hunger Games’ took over uptown Charlotte Wednesday.
Trucks carrying lights and other production equipment lined Levine Avenue of the Arts Street outside Knight Theater. Signs around the area directed the crew towards the set inside the theater.

Fans bring ‘The Hunger Games’ cosplay to San Diego Comic Con via Examiner
Fans who attended this year’s San Diego Comic Con are still buzzing about the panels, vendors and sneak peeks unleashed over the four day event. Part of the building buzz at Comic Con this year included The Hunger Games, and Lionsgate’s upcoming movie adaptation.
Lionsgate did not host a formal panel about The Hunger Games movie, since the film is still in production and cast and crew members are under such a rigorous schedule.
Some fans also brought their own Hunger Games enthusiasm to Comic Con — including Barbra Dillon of Fanboy Comics. She attended Comic Con dressed as none other than Katniss Everdeen!

Universal Republic to release ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack & official score via Examiner
Lionsgate confirmed Wednesday that Universal will be releasing both the official motion picture score, as well as a soundtrack that will include songs featured in the movie and songs influenced by themes in the movie.
“There is a tremendous opportunity for us to draw from so many different musical genres with this soundtrack,” said Tracy McKnight, Lionsgate’s head of music. “The setting for Tee Hunger Games ranges from what could be perceived as the rural Southern part of the U.S .all the way to the most advanced metropolis imaginable, and it all takes place in a vividly imagined future. The list of artists that could participate, and the opportunities for them to write and record, are really unlimited.”

I know I would love to see some bluegrass on the score, since it’s the right region for it. And since Lenny Kravitz is on the cast, I imagine he’ll do a song for the soundtrack as well.
