Danny Elfman could possibly score ‘The Hunger Games’ movie via Examiner
Though recent reports stated that T. Bone Burnett had written a song for Jennifer Lawrence to sing in The Hunger Games movie, it seems he may not necessarily be the man composing the entire score for the movie.
In fact, it sounds like Danny Elfman may be in talks for the project.
“The Hunger Games popped up, which seemed like really interesting thing,” Elfman said. “Different — and different catches my attention in a way that’s like, ‘Oh, I can’t ever pass up a chance to do something different.’ So that deal’s not even closed, it may not even happen, but we’re well along with that.”

Is the Hunger Games Trilogy a Reflection of Today’s Society? via Barnes and Noble
What is it about The Hunger Games trilogy that has every one so fascinated they’re even making a movie about it? When it comes to reading this trilogy, I was late to the party. The film had already been cast and people had been buzzing about the books for…oh, uh forever. My sister Marisa read it, next my father grabbed hold of the book and wouldn’t let go, and my nephew had already finished the series and couldn’t stop talking about it. So of course, I put my name on the list to read it next. After reading The Hunger Games I quickly purchased books two and three; Catching Fire and Mockingjay and was riveted. It really is a publisher’s dream; three generations reading a series that was intended for the Young Adult (YA) audience. How did this happen? It happened because Suzanne Collins has created a future world that is terrifying but hints at a world we could possibly live in; a world that could happen to us. It’s a story where the ‘what if’ scenario has a ring of truth to it, and centers around a premise we are all familiar with – Reality TV. Reality television is a big part of our culture, and the people who aspire to be contestants on these shows do so because of the appearance of a ‘barrier barely there’. Where once you would have to work for years to gain a recording contract, be a top chef or own your own design firm – now you can compete with several strangers with the possibility that all your dreams will come true in an instant.

UK DVD of ‘Beastly’ could include exclusive peek at ‘The Hunger Games’ movie via Examiner
UK fans of The Hunger Games may be getting a sneak peek at the upcoming movie adaptation if they purchase the DVD of Beastly. A sharp-eyed Hunger Games fan sent a heads up to fan site The Hob about the special offer — but anyone can view the listing on Amazon UK’s website.
An image of the UK DVD cover features a sticker that states, “The Hunger Games exclusive content included.” The same label is not included in cover images for the U.S. DVD, which hits stores June 28th. (The UK version comes out at the end of August).
There’s been no word from Lionsgate on if this is true, and if so, what the content might include. It’s possible, though, that if they are including content from The Hunger Games on the DVD release at the end of August, that US viewers may get content in another form around the same time frame. (This is, however, purely speculation.)
