Jackie is on the run from her abusive ex-husband.  However, he’s a cop, a dirty cop, and is able to bend the rules to get what he wants.  He is flexing his muscle now and will do whatever it takes to drag her back home.

Jackie has her daughter tucked away at a hotel with her sister in a nearby town.  She is racing to Blackthorn Mountain in the rain to her friend’s house when she wrecks her car.  A tattooed biker comes to her rescue and gives her sanctuary in his cabin for the night.

Once Stone has Jackie he never wants to let her go and he will do anything to protect her and Brooke from the abusive jerk that’s chasing her!

The synopsis of this book pretty much says it all.  There really isn’t much beyond what it says that happens.  The book does have a back-story, which basically is the previous five books of the series, that explains how these bikers (and Jackie’s friend, Larkin) ended up on Blackthorn Mountain.  This is the first book of the series that I have read, and I had no problem following it.  But honestly it isn’t that hard to follow when it’s mostly sex scenes.

I found the story pretty unbelievable.  I find it hard to imagine that a girl running from an abusive ex would go with Stone to his cabin on the mountain so easily, and to fall in bed with him so quickly to boot.  She even allowed this complete stranger to go pick up her daughter without her!

Let’s not even get started with cops allowing Stone to beat up the ex and even pull a knife!

If you’re just looking for some smut, this book may work for you, but if you want a decent storyline, I’d keep on looking.
