Short Bio:
Alan Ball is an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, director, producer & occasional actor, who is best known for writing the screenplay for the Oscar-winning film ‘American Beauty’ & for creating the HBO original drama series ‘Six Feet Under’. He also adapted the new famous TV series ‘True Blood’ – based on the “Southern Vampire Mysteries” books by Charlaine Harris. ”When I read the books I got sort of addicted to the story,” he says. ”Charlaine created this world that is constantly surprising and funny and terrifying and sometimes really heartbreaking, and I thought it would be a television show I would watch – that’s really all I can do.” The series is produced by HBO, too in association with Ball’s production company.
