THE BEST COMIC NEWS TO COME FROM COMIC CON
This year’s Comic-Con was light on earth-shattering comic book news but chock full o’ interesting tidbits about characters and upcoming projects. Here are some of the juiciest factoids that dropped this weekend.
– Top Shelf unveiled artwork from Alan Moore’s upcoming second volume of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century, which takes place in the 1960s.
-At the Vertigo panel, Executive Editor Karen Berger announced that all Vertigo characters who began in the mainstream DC Universe would revert back to DC ownership (with the exception of John Constantine).
– At the DC Event Horizon panel, DC Senior Story Editor Ian Sattler announced that Chloe from Smallville will debut in Action Comics 893 in a Jimmy Olson back-up story.

THE HERO OF THE COMIC WORLD ALAN MOORE
Typically, the appearance of Alan Moore’s name on a comic book has been a harbinger of heady, consequential writing inside: a promise of mighty champions empowered through mystical or superscientific methods and whose conflicts would challenge the reader’s perceptions of heroism and humanity.
So perhaps the first indication that “Unearthing,” a new work by Mr. Moore, is not typical of his pioneering graphic novels, like “Watchmen” and “V for Vendetta,” is that its subject is not a costumed adventurer, but a friend and fellow comics writer named Steve Moore, who inspired him to enter the business.
The second sign is that “Unearthing” is not a comic book at all, but a lengthy spoken-word recording accompanied by an atmospheric musical soundtrack and a book of photographs.
