As promised we’re bringing you the second part of OBS Special Edition of Lost. This time we’ll be giving you some of the info regarding two of the most mysterious characters of the series.

Benjamin Linus

Date of Birth: 19 December 1964
Birth Place: Portland, Oregon, USA

Profession: Workman at DHARMA Initiative and the Others Leader

Relationships: Roger Linus (Father), Emily Linus (Mother), Alex (Adoptive Daughter)

Summary:
Ben was born premature while his parents were on a hiking trip, causing this her mother’s death. While his father ran for help carrying him and his mother, they came across Horace and Olivia who immediately stopped to help them, but it was too late. Before dying his mother’s last words were to name the baby Benjamin. Years later, Roger got a job thanks to Horace; to work at the DHARMA Initiative taking a 9 year old Ben with him to the Island. He never had a stable relationship with his father and when meeting a traveling Sayid in the past he helps him escape to later get betrayed and shoot by him. In an attempt to save his life Juliet and Jack take him to the Others where he is help by Richard in exchange of his innocence. Later on, Ben was assigned to kill Danielle but after seeing that she had a baby he changes his mind, lets her go and keeps the baby; which he raises as his own. He witnessed Oceanic flight 815 crash and sent Ethan and Goodwin as spies to later inform him of the situation. After knowing by Juliet that he had a tumor on his spine he kidnaps Jack along with Kate and Sawyer, so that he is willingly convinced to perform surgery on Ben. It is later known that Alex, who had been helping the survivors, is Ben’s daughter and that he had sent Karl brainwash to keep her safe. After sending Juliet, who still cares about and somewhat trusts, to spy on the survivors he is provoked to take actions earlier than planned and sends Others for the survivors women.  Mean while, he leaves with Alex to stop Jack from making the call to the boat. After making believe Jack that he had killed Jin, Sayid and Bernard, Jack punches him and then drags him where the survivors and Ben introduces Danielle and Alex. The survivors separate and Ben leaves with Locke’s group. He warns Locke about the mercenaries coming to kill them and gives Alex, Karl and Danielle a map to the Temple. After seeing Alex get killed, he frees the smoke monster and then turns the wheel moving the Island.

Richard Alpert

Profession: Advisor to the leader of the Others and recruiter at Mittelos Bioscience

Summary:
We see the never aging Richard with the “Hostiles” in 1954, supposedly being their leader. During that time the US government had sent military personnel to the Island and other Pacific islands to test hydrogen bombs. One such bomb, Jughead, was brought to the Island. Richard ordered the soldiers to leave the island and when they refused, he ordered the others to attack and kill. At that same time Daniel, Miles and Charlotte time traveled back in time. Not long after, Locke arrived introducing himself as the Others leader in future, which Richard did not believe. Locke tells him that he will be born in two years in prove that he is not lying. Richard in did went to visit the hospital where Locke was born and starts visiting him after that two more times during the passing years to test him as the leader. In 1973, Richard met a young Ben in the jungle and told him to go back to his family, that in time he would be one of them. Four years later, Kate and Sawyer took Ben to the “Hostiles” in search of Richards help to save his life. In 1992, Richard led the ”Hostiles” along with Ben they slaughtered the DHARMA Initiative population with gas. At that point he turns into Ben’s advisor. Later on, he recruits Juliet by Ben’s orders. After Ben turns the wheel Richard and the Others are blinded by a white light and after three years he meets with “John”. Following orders of his new leader, he takes the Others and Ben to see Jacob. Later, Ilana and her group arrive asking for “Richardus”, to which he answers. Ilana asks the question and Richard responds, showing him a crate with John Locke’s body.
