“Character Profiles” is our new OBS feature, and to celebrate it, we’ll start it off with the first part of your favorite House of Night characters. If you remember well, the 6th book of the series ‘Tempted’ was released not too long ago, so if you still don’t know who is who, we’ll help you out.

House of Night

After she is Marked, 16-year-old Zoey Redbird enters the House of Night and learns that she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is mis-using her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny— with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

Physical Traits: Zoey has Cherokee features; she has long wavy black hair, big round hazel eyes, high cheekbones, a long strong nose and olive-ish skin.

Tattoo: Filled in crescend-shaped moon, lace-like sapphire blue on her forehead, and additional tattoos on her neck, shoulders, upper and lower back, waist, palms of hands and across her chest.

Affinity: ALL 5 elements; Wind, Water, Fire, Earth and Spirit.

Summary:
Zoey, the leading character, is the new marked girl, chosen by the goddess Nyx to fight against the rising evil. That she is special to Nyx is shown in her Mark. She is the only fledgling ever to have it filled and with additional tattoos all over her body before time. She also has an affinity for all five elements: Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Spirit. Having an elemental affinity means she is able to draw strength and energy from the elements themselves, making her able to become the new High Priestess. Zoey has trusts in her grandma, her very closest friends, a few teachers at the House of Night and Sister Mary-Angela. Zoey is not sure which boy she is really in love with; Heath, Erik, Loren, Stark… and now she feels attracted to Kalona, too. Zoey was imprinted to Heath, which later on was broken by her imprint to Loren. After his death she again drank from and imprinted to Heath.

Stevie Rae Johnson

Hometown: Henryetta, Oklahoma.

Physical Traits: Stevie Rae has curly short blonde hair and a round face with expressive blue/red eyes.

Family: Loving and caring parents who love Zoey as they love their own daughter.

Tattoo: Scarlet red filled in crescent moon on her forehead and a display of scarlet red flowers with stems that extend down her face and around her cheekbones.

Affinity: Earth.

Summary:
Stevie Rae is Zoey’s best friend and roommate at the House of Night. She has a distinct Okie accent and cowgirl fashion sense. Stevie Rae is a caring and sweet girl who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Her Earth affinity helped her keep her humanity during her time as a red fledgling. Stevie Rae restored her humanity with the help of Zoey, Damien, Erin, Shaunee and Aphrodite in a small casting circle and fully completed the change into a new type of vampire with red markings. During that she bit Aphrodite, which became a human again. Stevie Rae is now the High Priestess of the Red fledglings. After she was shot by Stark and needed human blood she drank from and imprinted on Aphrodite, which later was replaced by imprinting on Ream, a Raven Mocker she saved.
