It often amazes my how many stories with faith themes that would be naturals to adapt as films don’t seem to draw interest from the powers that be in the film business.

Crossbearer: A Memoir of Faith by Joe Eszterhas
This auto-biography telling the story, how the author of erotic movies like Basic Instinct and Showgirls found God and the strength to give up his addictions to alcohol and tobacco and to survive a horrible battle with throat cancer.
Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice
The movie business loved it when Anne Rice wrote about vampires, but since she renounced atheism, returned to the Catholic Church and turned her attention to, writing “only for the Lord” there seems to be less interest in her work.

Alright don’t shoot! But I will admit I have never read a Anne Rice book in my life! Horrible I know. But I find it interesting that now know one wants to do a movie about her books since she left vampires behind.
