GREG BARBER’s (Web Site Editor) choices:
» Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”: This mashup begins like this: “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” If that, and the idea of the Bennet sisters as badass zombie slayers, doesn’t grab your attention, nothing from the 19th century will.
» “The Lost Symbol” by Dan Brown: Be a hater if you want, but Brown spun an engaging, mysterious tale starring D.C. Brown’s details weren’t always spot on — look around you, King Street Metro denizens; see any tunnels? — but his plot was definitely a page-turner.
I have heard a lot about Pride and Prejudice with Zombies. It’s on my must read list now.
I have to disagree with Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol. After all the anticipation, I felt it was a let down. It’s not a horrible book, but it’s not that great either.
