We all want to be remembered. Charlotte’s destiny is to be Forgotten…
Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.
But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend’s arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become–her mark on this earth, her very existence–is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.
Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny–no matter how dark the consequences. (Goodreads)
This book is so good, as in the man-I-should-be-way-nicer kind of good. I stayed up all night just to finish this book, but it was so worth being sleepy the next day. Charlotte’s just too good of a person to miss out on.
This playlist is really angelic, for some odd reason that comes once you read the book. 🙂
- Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World
May angels fly you home. For me, that single sentence is the one that makes me add it to this playlist. Charlotte, may you fly home to Paradise and remember Harley. Wait a minute Charlotte, you ARE the angel!
- Angels by Owl City
Charlotte is the angel that Adam Young sees. Well, at least that’s how I like to think of it. She’s so inspiring that Owl City wrote a song about angels! (Just go with it please!)
- Mean by Taylor Swift
Some people are just mean. These are the people that Charlotte must stop (ie Onika). Someday, I’ll be living in a big old city, and all you’re ever gonna be is mean. (Looking at you, Onika!)
- Love Does by Brandon Heath
… and hate doesn’t. Charlotte is the love, and she does way more than any other protagonist I’ve loved.
- What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction
You don’t know you’re beautiful, and that’s what makes you beautiful. I know this song is so 2012 and cheesy and all, but it truly fits the book. Charlotte’s so the girl that 1D is singing about.
- Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran
The Need changed everything. It’s still changing everything. But in this case, it’s probably more for the worse.
- When You’re Gone by Avril Lavigne
I feel like this is Harvey’s song for Charlotte. All the pieces of his heart are breaking, and I feel so bad for him. But luckily there’s a sequel!
