The 10 best werewolf movies of all time
Vampires have sunk their teeth into the general public, thanks largely to the success of the “Twilight” books and films. Zombies just won’t die, as filmmakers keep resurrecting the undead in countless flicks. And good ol’ fashioned ghost stories, like “Paranormal Activity,” never seem to disappear.
Yet, it’s been many a full moon since werewolves ruled the land. That may change with the release of “The Wolfman,” which howls into theaters Friday. The Benicio Del Toro film, perhaps the most hotly anticipated monster movie of 2010, is the latest attempt to bring attention to the mythical shape-shifter.
1. “Dog Soldiers” (2002)
2. “An American Werewolf in London” (1981)
3. “Ginger Snaps” (2000)
4. “The Company of Wolves” (1984)
5. “Howling III: The Marsupials” (1987)
6. “Audie and the Wolf” (2008)
7. “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” (1948)
8. “The Brotherhood of the Wolf” (2002)
9. “The Wolf Man” (1941)
10. “Silver Bullet” (1985)

I’ve never been a fan of werewolves. I have not seen a single movie from the top 10 list above. Have you? Which is your fave werewolf movie?
I love the 10 most epic love stories list – Han & Leia, Penny & Desmond, Sarah & Kyle. What do you think of the list? What couple would you add if you could?
Love your work. Patient Zero was a great novel. I am anxiously awaiting the follow up. What did you think of Wolfman??

Great list. Glad to see Dog Soldiers at the top.
I wrote the novelization of the new WOLFMAN (based on the script) and will be seeing that flick in its entirety in a few minutes. Here's hoping it makes next year's list of Best Werewolf flicks.
Funny thing is we are watching Brotherhood of the Wolf right now. If you have not seen, I will not give away the big twist. But it is a really good action film on top of the French court life too.
