KIRSTEN PROUT TO PLAY LUCY IN ECLIPSE

www.mtv.com: Jasper’s backstory just got a little bit easier to envision. The news broke last  week that “Kyle XY” player  Kirsten Prout joined the cast of “Eclipse,” third movie in the “Twilight” series. She’ll play Lucy, a vampire from Jasper Hale’s (Jackson Rathbone) past who factors prominently into his coming to terms with joining the ranks of the undead.

Lucy doesn’t appear in the present-day telling of “Eclipse,” but she’ll factor into Jasper’s origin-revealing flashback. A former Confederate soldier during the Civil War, Jasper was “born” when he encountered a vampire named Maria (Catalina Sandino Moreno), who enlisted him into her growing vampire army. Jasper ended up turning on his creator, along with two of her soldiers, one of whom is Lucy.

TWILIGHT WINS BIG AT THE SCREAM AWARDS

www.mtv.com: Over the past 12 months, franchises like “Twilight” and “True Blood” have sunk their teeth into Hollywood, and Saturday night’s taping of the fourth annual awards showed that there’s no hate from the horror fans.

The night’s biggest winners, however, were “Twilight” (Best Fantasy Movie, Breakout Performance for Taylor Lautner) and “True Blood,” which won Best TV Show, Best Villain for Alexander Skarsgard; Best Horror Actor for Stephen Moyer and Best Horror Actress for Anna Paquin.

FACINELLI GETS PUNNY ON THE SET OF ‘ECLIPSE’

www.moviesblog.mtv.com: Peter Facinelli has been getting a lot of attention from Daily TwitPic lately. It’s his fault though (not that that’s a bad thing). The guy has really taken to Twitter as a micro-blogging tool, giving fans glimpses into his daily happenings.

For this morning’s Daily TwitPic, Facinelli proves that “Eclipse” doesn’t have such a closed set. How secure could it be if he’s snapping pictures of his biggest fan? NEW FOOTAGE FROM NEW MOON!

www.screenrant.com: New footage from The Twilight Saga: New Moon debuted this weekend at the 2009 Spike TV Scream Awards, and, of course, made its way online shortly thereafter.

The new footage is a pretty lame quick-glimpse of The Wolf Pack that main character (and shirtless muscle boy) Jacob (Taylor Lautner) belongs to. Jacob of course plays a much more central role in New Moon as the boy-creature who Bella (Kristen Stewart) begins to fall for after her boy-creature-lover, Edward (Robert Pattinson), breaks up with her (sob).
