“THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE” NEW PAPERBACK COVERS REVEALED
Artwork for the movie tie-in versions of the Eclipse paperback books have been unveiled and will be available through major retailers near the end of May. One features artwork seen on the one-sheet released by Summit a few weeks ago with Bella in the foreground and Edward and Jacob behind her with an ominous-looking grey sky in the background. The other features a portion of Bella’s face covering half of the cover and an image of Edward set in the iris of her eye.
JACKSON RATHBONE MAKES DIRECTORIAL DEBUT WITH MUSIC VIDEO FOR CHARITY CONCERT
from mtv.com:
When “Eclipse” star Jackson Rathbone’s friend passed away several years ago from adrenal cancer, one of his deepest fears came true. “That’s probably my worst fear in life, to see a friend pass away,” he told Hollywood Crush while discussing his new horror movie, “Dread.” “My friend Spencer was an incredible musician and artist and he had so many songs that never would see the light of day.”
Instead of letting his artistic spirit remain a memory, however, Spencer’s friends and family started an organization, The Spencer Bell Legacy Project, to honor their loved one’s creativity and to raise money for adrenal cancer programs.
TWILIGHT CLAWS ITS WAY INTO POP CULTURE, MAKES VAMPIRES SPARKLE
from keenequinox.com:
Remember when vampires used to be kind of cool? They were sophisticated, intelligent, had an unparalleled ability to seduce women for their blood and could even turn into bats when they wanted. Then there was “Twilight.” Leave it to a chick flick to turn something scary into something laughable.
No longer would vampires have to worry about being burnt to death by sunlight; it only makes their chests glitter like they’re distance relatives to Tinkerbell. And what’s up with this vegetarian vampire trend? I’m supposed to believe because Edward Cullen drinks the blood of animals over humans he’s more ethical and civilized? Sorry Eddy, but I saw the movie “Bambi” and you’re not fooling me for a second.
When I first sat through “Twilight,” I was convinced the whole movie must be some kind of practical joke. After all the hype I heard about it, I couldn’t believe what I had just seen. Super-powered vampire baseball, seriously? That’s what vampires do when they’re bored? Since when did vampires have super strength and super speed anyway? These guys would sooner pass off as a special breed of fairy-like Kryptonians with an unhealthy desire for the blood of animals.
HAPPY APRIL FOOL’S DAY!
Ah, what would April Fool’s Day be without some great rumors about the Twilight movies and/or their cast members to send people into a tizzy? Remember last year when it was announced that Stephenie Meyer had completed “Midnight Sun” and that it would be released in the following month? Well…this year is no different. The rumor mill is buzzing with plenty activity. Here’s a taste of the jokes that many bloggers have pulled today:
- UK symphonic gothic black metal band Cradle of Filth has announced that they will be composing the soundtrack to the upcoming film “Twilight: Eclipse.” here
- Robert Pattinson to direct “Breaking Dawn” here
- Robert Pattinson drops out of “Breaking Dawn” due to scheduling conflict here
- “Breaking Dawn” to have R rating and Taylor Lautner to drop out of film to avoid typecasting here
What do you think of the artwork for the movie tie-in paperbacks? I really like the one with the portion of Bella’s face and the image of Edward in her eye. It makes me think of how Edward was the first guy that ever really caught Bella’s eye, and the same for Edward with Bella.
I generally ignore most of the Twilight-bashing posts out there, but this one really bugged me for several reasons. One…the person criticized the entire series without having picked up a book. Two…it punctuates how many important details critical to plot and character development were left out of the first film. It also irritates me to no end when people don’t sit back and actually think about how Stephenie’s vampires, although they sparkle in the sun and the Cullens are “vegetarians”, are still quite dangerous. By not giving them fangs, she created creatures who can assimilate quite easily into the human population without much notice. The ultimate predator is right in their midst and they don’t even know it.
I love Jackson Rathbone’s dedication to honor his friend’s memory and to make a change! So many in Hollywood talk a good game, but he backs his words up with action and I admire that.
