TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS FOR MAY 19TH:WOLF ADVICE, TENT SCENE, STEPHENIE NEWS & MORE

Wolf Pack Advice to Bella – “Jacob Is Someone You Can Take Home To Mom”

from latimes.com:

In the third installment of “The Twilight Saga,” the vampires of the Cullen clan join forces with their hirsute enemies, the wolf pack, after an army of newborn vampires goes on a bloody tear in Seattle.

Amid the chaos, Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, must choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob.

It’s a no-brainer, say the shape-shifters who always wear their hearts on their sleeves — even if they don’t wear shirts. Their wolf-brother Jacob, they say, is the one Bella should keep at her side.

“He’ll treat her good, he’ll take care of her,” says 25-year-old Alex Meraz, who plays the hairy and hot-tempered Paul. “He’s cuddly when he turns into a wolf … unless he’s mad. But he can control it! He’s a good friend. Why would you want someone who is conflicted and doesn’t know if they love you or not? It’s like a love-hate relationship — ‘I love you, but I don’t want to hurt you.’ Instead you can have someone who is legit and is down to do anything for you. It’s like, ‘Momma would be happy.’ Jacob is someone you can take home to Mom.”

Elizabeth Reaser:  ‘Eclipse’ Tent Scene “A Chaste Three Way”

MTV recently caught up with Elizabeth Reaser who plays vampire mom Esme Cullen and talked with her about “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”  Reaser shared a little bit about the much-anticipated tent scene involving Edward, Bella, and Jacob.  Here’s what she had to say about it:

“The tent scene, I remember that being one of the hottest scenes in the books, so I’m excited to see that,” Reaser said when she stopped by the MTV News offices Tuesday (May 18). “I’m Team Edward, so I can’t relate to [Bella] being torn [between Edward and Jacob], but I mean, come on, vampires are cool! Wolves are super hairy and they smell disgusting, like dogs.”

Reaser said the tent scene ups the sexual ante in the “Twilight Saga.” “The tent scene is sort of a three-way — I mean, it’s a chaste three-way, but it is, nonetheless, a three-way,” she said. “So I do think that ups the sexiness factor in this movie, but I don’t know. The first movie, I thought, was intensely sexy, because they couldn’t touch, and to watch them fall in love was so sexy. And I love that, in the books, they all have great chemistry. So it’s fun to watch.”

Stephenie Meyer Hosting Mini-Press Junket

Stephenie Meyer posted an update on her website the other day to announce a mini press junket as a part of the publicity for the upcoming release of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”.   Her intention is to answer questions that die-hard fans want answers to, as opposed to the generic questions that she is asked over and over by the mainstream press.  She writes:

I want to do something different with publicity for this movie release. For Twilight, I did the normal press junket, for New Moon I got to go on Oprah. Both of these were fun, exciting experiences. However, they both had the same drawback—the interviews were designed for a very broad audience, and because of that, most of the questions were about things you guys have known the answers to for years. I feel like all of the basic questions have been answered, and for Eclipse I want to focus on the more specific questions of the readers. To accomplish that, I’m hosting my own mini-junket with a few fansites. It will be held on Friday, June 18th, the week before the L.A. premiere.

I’ll answer all of your questions (and your readers questions, if you want to poll them) about the Eclipse Movie, and the Bree story, as well, which will have been out for a few weeks by then.

Get Robert Pattinson Handwriting Font

Here is a little something for serious Robert Pattinson fans!  The folks over at Twilight Poison scoured the internet looking at images of Robert Pattinson autographs and created an RPattz handwriting font for fans to download.    The font set only contains alpha characters and no numbers.  To get the font, go here.

So, do you agree with the assessment that Jacob is someone that you can bring home to mom?  This goes right to the heart of the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate.  I’d argue that parents might be more inclined to root for Edward because he can provide financial stability for their daughter.

What do you think of Elizabeth Reaser’s depiction of the tent scene?  I cannot wait to see this and I hope that they really deliver on the tension within that tent!

While this site is not one of the ones selected for Stephenie Meyer’s press junket, I am so glad that she is doing things the way that she is.  She’s absolutely right in the assessment that true fans already know the answers to the questions that the mainstream media will ask her.  There was nothing new to me in her appearance on Oprah, just as I didn’t really learn anything new about Taylor, Rob, or Kristen in their visit to Oprah last week.

Will any of you be buying the Taylor Lautner comic?

Who is downloading the RPattz font?  I admit that I did – I’m a sucker for cool handwritten fonts and I am more than impressed by the work that went into creating it.
