Let me start off this review by saying that I was so excited to get my hands on this book early!  I love Nalini Singh and I also have a weakness for romances featuring rock stars, ever since I read Perfect Timing by Laura Spinella, which was amazing!!!

Our leading female, Molly Webster, has suffered at the hands of the media when she was younger and her politician dad fell from grace in a very public way.  People were brutal to her in a way that she will never forget over something that wasn’t even her fault!  So when Schoolboy Choir, lead singer, Zachary Fox, takes a shine to her, she knows it can’t go anywhere because she never wants to live under that brutal microscope ever again.  But she decides a one-night stand with the hunk is perfectly fine.

But Fox isn’t satisfied with one measly night.  He knows he never wants to let this girl go and talks her into giving him the whole month that he’s in New Zealand.  But when that month is over, Molly is completely addicted to the drug that is Zachary Fox!  Can they both get past the pain they have endured as children and make this new-found relationship work?

When I started reading this book, I just couldn’t get enough of it!!  I did not want to put it down!  The steam between this couple is off the charts, and the story was interesting.  But at one point my kindle decided that I had read too much, the battery died, and I had to wait for it to charge!!!  The horror of it all! There is definitely something to say in favor of print books in that regard!  But once it was charged back up, I was good to go again!

Notice I said that when I STARTED reading the book I couldn’t put it down.  Yes, sadly something happened and this book lost its fire.  For me it happened right before Part 2.  I can even tell you what that something was …  Fox.  He morphed into this controlling, no half measures guy, and it annoyed the crap out of me.  He wanted a relationship with Molly, but refused any kind of compromise.  It was his way or no way, and she went along with it, like the little pushover she became!  He was a total jerk to her when she first moved in with him and in this book, every conflict is solved with sex.  I lost a lot of respect for both characters at that point, and they never regained it.

There is a LOT of sex in this book.  More than any other Singh book I’ve ever read!  I swear it’s all this couple ever does.  I have no idea how Fox has time to write music, let alone perform it, or even go to the bathroom.  Don’t get me wrong, I like a  healthy dose of smut, but I felt this book may have gone a bit overboard on the sex, and I do think the story may suffer a bit from that, as I think the romance gets lost after awhile.

The theme song for this book should definitely be blurred lines by Robin Thicke the way that Fox keeps insisting Molly is such a good girl and how she always wants it ….

That’s not to say this was a bad book, but it was just disappointing for a book to take me so high in the beginning and let me fall so low later on.

With that said, I very much plan to read the next installment of the series, and I just hope that it won’t suffer from the same downfalls this novel did.
