It’s no secret that Twilight (and the four other books in the vampire series by Stephenie Meyer) are wildly popular.

Now a new book says it uses the novel to help boost vocabulary needed to ace the ACT, SAT and other standardized tests.

Defining Twilight: Vocabulary workbook for unlocking the SAT, ACT, GED and SSAT was published in July.

I haven’t seen a copy and initially the idea made me laugh.

“Can you resist the allure of Edward’s myriad charms”his ocher eyes and tousled hair, the cadence of his speech, his chiseled alabaster skin, and his gratuitous charm?” a press release asks.

But for teenagers who want some standardized-test practice, this workbook seems far more palatable than your, well, standard test-prep book. At the very least, you’ve got to give the author credit for a good gimmick.

Hahahahah! Ok, done laughing. As funny as it seems, it’s a great idea for high school kids. Anything that gets them reading and learning works for me.
