Synopsis:  whos-the-grossest-of-the-all

The Three Billy Goats Gruff meets Walter the Farting Dog in this irresistibly kid-friendly read-aloud picture book that has the flavor of a classic nursery tale but with a huge surprise gross-out factor that will leave kids howling with laughter.

Goblin is proud to say that without a doubt, he is the most horrible creature in the forest. But then he meets Troll, who begs to differ—how could anyone be more horrible than he is! And so the two decide to ask passersby for their opinions. A terrified man chooses Troll, but then a petrified woman opts for Goblin. When a little girl skips by, Troll and Goblin agree that she should make the final call. The winner? Read to find out—you won’t believe who it is!

Review:

Not really a book I would enjoy reading to my child nor one I would hope they take as their favorite. I am sure it would be fun for a child in some weird way. The illustrations are fun and caricature. They are colorful and elicit a laugh or few. Goblin is a gross little creature that decided he is the most gross of all the woodland creatures. As he goes about trying to get confirmation he meets up with ugly purple Troll. Troll and Goblin then take the task of answering the question of who is the grossest to the people they meet. With a vote for each it comes down to a tie breaker.

Classic characters appear – a man with a goat, an old woman and then the tie breaker Red Riding Hood. What will her answer be. The result is a surprise, but not one I really enjoyed. Although it will point out that beauty is in the eye of the beholder I think. Who’s the Grossest of Them All is cute, a bit funny and the artwork is entertaining. I am just not sure this is my type of bed time reading.
