TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS JULY 16TH: BREAKING DAWN, KRISTEN STEWART, ROBERT PATTINSON

‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ to have sex scenes? Melissa Rosenberg says it’s possible

Melissa Rosenberg, who turned the Twilight novels into the blockbuster Twilight Saga films, is setting out to please many Twi-hards with the Saga‘s final Breaking Dawn films.

“I don’t think we’re planning to shy away from anything,” she told OnTheRedCarpet.com. “I think the birth should be as horrifying as it is in the novel. The sex scenes should be as scintillating as they are in the novel, as erotic as they are in the novel. All of it, I think we should see all of it.”

The scribe also teased a few details about where she plans to split the two films, “I can tell you that the break between the two movies will be somewhere around from her transition from a human, pregnant, newly-wed, to her being a vampire and a parent. Somewhere right in there we’ll find the break.” She jokes, “Where specifically? I’m not sure or I’m just not saying.”

Why grown women are the real audience for Twilight

www.huffingtonpost.com: After my column, “Driving with Vampires,” was published last week, I received scores of emails insisting that I’d missed the real point of the films. And what would that real point be? That Twilight isn’t aimed at teenage girls like my daughter, Kerry–it’s aimed at their mothers.

These emails reminded me of an incident that I’d somehow blocked out. Even though I can’t bring myself to pay money to see Eclipse, I did see New Moon on the day after Thanksgiving in 2009. I was the only guy in the packed movie theater. While there were plenty of teenagers, most of the audience was middle-aged women who were, as best I could tell, hungry for some raw teenage boy meat.

I wasn’t there for the story, but more as a kind of sociological learning experience. What would cause grown women to throw their panties at 18-year-old boys, as Lautner had reported to David Letterman? But being in that movie theater as women (several related to me) screamed with ecstasy when Lautner disrobed sent me into some kind of septic shock-induced blackout, one that that prevented me from recalling the experience when sitting down to write about Eclipse last week.

Muse Bassist Compares Being On ‘Twilight’ Soundtracks To Selling Soul

After making millions of potential new fans thanks to the inclusion of their songs on all three “Twilight” soundtrack albums, Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme may be risking the bloodthirsty wrath of the Twi-Hard Nation with some comments he recently made about the vampire sensation.

“I’m not sure how cool it is to be on those kind of things, but sometimes you’ve just got to get your music out there in different ways,” he told BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat column.

Even with the films’ box-office success and the massive exposure for the band, which is stadium-rocking huge in Europe but has not yet broken through in the same way in the U.S., Wolstenholme said he’s not sure the trade-off has been worth it. “It’s very difficult in America, because you don’t have anything like Radio 1, nothing is national,” he said. “You have to take every opportunity you get over there, and sometimes you have to sell your soul.”

Can You Believe Edward Cullen Is Being Compared To A Serial Killer?

Edward Cullen, Twilight’s leading man, is technically a blood-thirsty vampire, but comparing him to Showtime’s serial killer-with-a-heart-of-gold is a little…aggressive, no? Although the two characters seemingly have little in common aside from their killer instincts, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg (who has written both parts) insists they’re two peas in a pod!

“Even though [Dexter and The Twilight Saga] are of different genres, characters like Dexter (Michael C. Hall), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are all examining what it means to be human,” Melissa told audience members during a Writer’s Guild event in LA July 13. “The attraction to characters like these is that there’s no black or white – they’re shades of grey with lots of complexities and everything in between.”

Explaining ‘Twilight’ to Men

Sit down and count how many X chromosomes you have. If it’s more than one, this column isn’t meant for you. If you’d be so kind, please go grab your husband or boyfriend or random other male to read this. I’m going to try to explain “Twilight” to them. Wish me luck.

Hello, so-called men. Did you know at this very moment, a woman somewhere is conspiring to drag you to see the new “Twilight” movie, “Twilight: New Harvest Moon Rising Something or Other”? It’s true.

But Erik, you say, I don’t want to see “Twilight.” I have testosterone and facial hair. Well, too bad. You’re a grown man, and should have figured out by now that you no longer make your own decisions.

But as a favor to you, I can at least get you caught up to speed on what’s happened in the earlier “Twilight” movies, so you won’t get lost in the intricate plotting. Below you will find the Cliff Notes for “The Twilight Saga.” Pay close attention.

Will ‘Breaking Dawn’ in 3-D Become Big Screen TMI?

Bella giving birth in 3-D too much for you to stomach? Brace yourself then because it could happen.

“I think [what] Summit has been discovering — as they’ve been seeing the 3-D material and the ease we’ve been able to work with it — is that it’s an incredibly viable format to work in,” says director Patrick Lussier, who has previously worked with the movie studio behind the Twilight franchise.

So is it safe for us to assume Breaking Dawn will be shot in 3-D then? “That decision has yet to be made,” the studio’s distribution chief Richard Fay spills. “It’s still the source of a discussion. A big factor is the perception of our audience. What are their feelings going to be? If it lends itself to being a better movie because of 3-D, then that’s the technology we’ll use.”

Billy Black actor talks of role on eve of visiting LaPush

On film, Gil Birmingham, who portrays the “Twilight” saga’s Billy Black, has been a village leader for the fictional LaPush.

On Saturday, for the first time, he will visit the real location during the Quileute Days celebration, which begins today and runs through Sunday.

“I have such a respect for the Quileute people and am so honored to portray that on screen,” Birmingham told the Peninsula Daily News.

“I hope that I do so in a way that they are pleased with.”

Birmingham will be part of the Quileute Days parade at noon, and will sign autographs at 3 p.m. in the Quileute Tribal Council Building. Admission is $20, a fundraiser for Quileute elders.

The actor, who portrays the fictional Quileute tribal chief in the “Twilight” films — which are based on the four-novel vampire series set in LaPush, Forks and Port Angeles — will make a 4 p.m. guest appearance at the Talent Showcase on the main stage in front of the tribal office.

He also will meet with the real Tribal Council, including Tribal Chairwoman Anna Rose Counsell-Geyer.

I really wouldn’t like to see Breaking Dawn in 3-D. What is so bad about 2-D? The other just make me dizzy and that will not make me enjoy the movie like it should be. Please, don’t go that way too. I’m really looking forward on seeing Kristen as vampire Bella, the wedding, when they tell Charlie and so many more things. I’m still not sure where they will split it, but I guess it’s for the best 🙂
