Stephenie Meyer’s ‘The Host’ Invaded By A Director

hollywoodcrush.mtv.com: We haven’t heard much about the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s other best-selling novel “The Host” since the screen rights were purchased way back in September 2009. Well, it now appears the production process is gaining steam as a director has just been announced! “Nanny McPhee Returns” director Susanna White will helm the film written by Andrew Niccol (“The Truman Show”).

Kristen Stewart nominated for Kids Choice Award for ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

www.examiner.com: Nominations for the 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, which comedian Jack Black will return to host, have been announced, and Kristen Stewart (“Bella Swan”) has been nominated for “Favorite Movie Actress” for her work in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse!

She is nominated alongside Miley Cyrus for The Last Song, Ashley Judd for The Tooth Fairy, and Emma Watson for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

‘Twilight’ Writer Melissa Rosenberg Takes Over Summit’s ‘Highlander’ Script

www.hollywoodreporter.com: After taking on vampires in Summit’s Twilight Saga, writer Melissa Rosenberg is tackling a different kind of immortal being: Scottish highlanders.

The scribe is in negotiations to come on board to work on the studio’s remake of HighlanderNeal Moritz is producing the project, which offers an update on the 1986 movie starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown. Justin Lin (Fast Five) is attached to direct. Peter Davis is also producing.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Vancouver Twilight shoot revealed

www.vancouversun.com: The Twilight stars — Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Kellan Lutz, Taylor Lautner and the gang — are headed to Vancouver next month and the mag says it even knows where they’re going to be.

Our source continues: “They are wrapping things up in Baton Rouge but are heading up to Canada over the next week and will be filming in many districts. But they will only be shooting in the city of Vancouver on one day … March 14, they’ll be at a theatre for part of the day and then they’ll be filming on Beatty Street.”

‘Eclipse’ helmer in talks to direct NBC pilot

www.variety.com: David Slade, who helmed “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” is in talks to direct the NBC pilot “REM.”

This would mark Slade’s first TV project. Besides “Eclipse,” which grossed nearly $700 million globally, his other efforts include indie film “Hard Candy” with Ellen Page and horror pic “30 Days of Night.”
