Peter Facinelli To Play The Gipper?

MTV is suggesting that Peter Facinelli be considered as a possible pick to play Ronald Reagan in a biopic about the 40th president of the United States.  They write:

Obviously some of you are going to think that Peter Facinelli is on the list to placate the “Twilight” fans. This is MTV; you’re a big part of our audience. No. Facinelli is actually a strong actor, he could be made up to resemble the former prez and, as he’s proven in “Twilight,” he can play an older man as well as he does a younger man. A good pick for capturing Reagan at the varying stages of his life.

Robert Pattinson Spotted In Lubbock, Texas

Robert Pattinson was recently spotted in a bar in Lubbock, Texas, near the Texas Tech University campus.  The actor had been in the bar for nearly four hours before he was recognized.  Once the cat was out of the bag and patrons shared the news via Facebook and Twitter, fans came out in droves for a chance to catch a glimpse at the actor and to have a photo taken with him.   There is speculation that he was there on his way to New Orleans to catch up with Kristen Stewart as she films “On the Road”.

One of the waitresses in the bar told the local Fox station about it, saying:

“He came in around 5 o’clock at our happy hour shift. Nobody really noticed that it was Robert Pattinson until about 9 o’clock and finally a couple of bartenders and waitstaff asked him and then he kind of denied it at first and then eventually he fessed up and said that it was him. And so the word got out and about 20 minutes later we had a rush of girls come in. They were just flaunting themselves over him. We finally had to shut the bar down and not let anybody else in cause it was just crazy, said Vivion.”

I’m glad to know that Rob was able to find a few moments of peace and anonymity.  It’s a shame that folks had to blow it for him, though.  Here around Nashville, it’s not uncommon to have a music star (of any genre) next to you in an average restaurant or in the check-out line at the grocery store and it’s amazing how people just leave them alone and respect their privacy.  It’s one thing to meet them, take a picture, thank them, and move on.  It’s another to tell the world, drawing such a large crowd that a business has to close for the evening to protect their patrons.
