TWILIGHT CAST AFFECTED BY WINTER STORM AS WELL

While not being hit as badly as the Midwest and Northeastern states, the Twilight cast still felt the effects of the winter storm system that moved through the eastern half of the country this week.  Freezing temperatures hit Louisiana and other Southern states along with strong winds and tornado watches (definitely not the kind of weather the stars are accustomed to in Los Angeles).   Peter Facinelli tweeted about the weather from the “Breaking Dawn” set in Baton Rouge.

ALEX MERAZ TWEETS TAYLOR’S PHONE NUMBER

Some poor soul was probably ready to slap Paul like Bella after this tweet from Alex Meraz hit the internet the other day.   He tweeted:

“@sonofbrown here’s my number (323) 467-4466 Oops!! that’s Taylor’s Sorry :)”

The number did not actually belong to Taylor Lautner, but I’m sure that someone was ready to get their number changed after that!

OFFER ON THE TABLE FOR KRISTEN STEWART TO PLAY SNOW WHITE

We reported last week that Kristen Stewart was one of several actresses vying for the role of Snow White in “Snow White and the Huntsman” alongside Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.  The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that Universal made an offer to Kristen over the weekend.

KRISTEN STEWART IS NOT LOIS LANE

There were also reports of Kristen being considered for the role of Lois Lane in the upcoming “Superman” remake starring Henry Cavill, but reports are now out that she will not be pursuing the part.  We speculated that this probably would not come to fruition because of Kristen’s propensity to take parts in smaller, less blockbuster-type films.  It turns out that we were definitely on track with that, as The New York Daily News  reports:

Stewart, however, had specific reasons for turning down the part. The source says the intense-eyed actress, whose rumored involvement with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson set the media swooning, was “caught off guard” by the success of that film franchise and wasn’t ready to leap into a similar situation just yet. Instead, the source said, Stewart professed an interest in “smaller, independent films.” (Stewart’s spokeswoman said only that she “did not read for the part” and declined to elaborate.)

TWI-HARD JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT TO WORK “BREAKING DAWN” PREMIERE

Jennifer Love Hewitt is unashamedly a HUGE Twi-Hard and gushed about her love of the books, the movies, and Edward Cullen during an interview with Access Hollywood.  She talked about how she stood in line forever at the premiere of the first film and barely had a moment to meet Robert Pattinson.  Access Hollywood host Billy Bush offers her a job as a correspondent on the red carpet for the premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” and she goes completely fangirl.  Check it out below.

TWILIGHT SAGA BRINGS MILLIONS TO BATON ROUGE ECONOMY

Many of the cast members have been very involved with helping to rebuild post-Katrina New Orleans, and the very existence of their jobs is now bringing an economic boom to Baton Rouge with the production jobs, the hotel expenses, dining expenses, shopping, and more, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” will have pumped almost $100 million into the local economy.

A local Louisiana news channel, WAFB, has released some numbers, and it seems that in 2010 alone, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn’s production brought in around $65.5 million dollars to the city. It is expected that as production comes to a close this year, Breaking Dawn will have brought in another $33 million to Baton Rouge.

THREE MORE ACTRESSES TO PLAY RENESMEE CULLEN

Sierra Pitkin

Rachel St. Gelais

Eliza Faria

There have been three more actresses in addition to Mackenzie Foy cast to portray Renesmee Cullen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”.  It has been reported that Eliza Faria, age 5, will play the youngest version of Renesmee.  Rachel St. Gelais will portray her at age 6.  Sierra Pitkin will provide the oldest body of Renesmee.  Mackenzie’s website includes some explanation on how the multiple actresses will be used to bring Renesmee to the big screen while keeping Mackenzie’s face (which is the perfect meshing of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, by the way).

We now have more info about the CGI techniques that are going to be used in Breaking Dawn to rapidly age Mackenzie’s character Renesmee. The CGI team is going to use a mixture of ‘Motion Capture’ and ‘Live Action’ Photography by fitting Mackenzie with an individually made skull cap fitted with a tiny camera positioned in front of her face. Like Avatar, the information collected about her facial expressions and eyes is then transmitted to computers.

As reported back in October Mackenzie’s face will then be digitally transferred onto the face and body of a younger child to create the illusion of her character’s rapid ageing. Besides the performance capture data which will be transferred directly to the computers, numerous reference cameras will give the digital artists multiple angles of each performance. All live action and motion capture footage will then be composited on screen.

Do any of you have the Twilight books on your Kindle?  If not, do you think that you’ll add these to your collection?

I imagine that the wild winter weather and the tornado watches were probably really strange for some members of the cast to experience – especially for the people who grew up on the West Coast where it’s not a common occurrence.  I wonder what Rob thought of the weather – you don’t hear about tornadoes in England, do you?

What do you think of the prospect of Kristen playing Snow White?  She certainly has the complexion and the delicate facial features to pull it off.  I’m glad to hear that she won’t be playing Lois Lane.  It’s not that I don’t think that she can’t pull it off, but the blockbuster style of film is really just not her thing.  She signed on for “Twilight” thinking that it might make back what they spent to make it. She never envisioned the worldwide phenomenon that it’s become.

Jennifer Love Hewitt cracks me up!  It’s refreshing to see someone so honest about something out in Hollywood.  You know that there are probably tons of closet “Twilight” fans out there, but they’ll never admit it.

It was a given that “Breaking Dawn” filming would be a huge boost to Baton Rouge’s economy, but I never anticipated hearing that they would be pumping nearly $100 million into the city coffers!

All three of those little girls cast to help bring Renesmee to life on the big screen are absolutely adorable.  I just want to pinch Eliza’s little cheeks!  It’s interesting to read that they will be using Mackenzie’s face throughout with age progression technology and these little girls will serve as the bodies at different stages of growth.  I cannot wait to see the final result.
