FAVORITE QUOTES FROM THE ROB AND KRISTEN COMMENTARY

MTV has listed some of their favorite quotes from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s audio commentary in the “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” DVD extras.  In the commentary, they reveal that it was recorded with Rob in Los Angeles and Kristen in Montreal, Canada.  Rob talks about the In and Out burgers that he’s enjoying and Kristen expresses her jealousy over that fact.    Some of their favorites included the following:

Scene: Bella goes to the Wolf Pack house for the first time

Kristen: She’s allowed to have other relationships.

Rob (heated): Why? No, she’s not allowed to have other relationships! If I ever saw my girlfriend go around to this bunch of guys’ house with all their little shirt—with all their little bellies out and their fake tan nipples and their iron-on tattoos…

Kristen: Edward is just a little bit more mature than you.

Rob: Mature?

Kristen: Yep.

Rob: Nah.

Kristen: He can handle it.

Scene: Boo Boo Stewart comes on screen

Rob: (in Yogi Bear voice) Heya Boo Boo!

The MTV listing doesn’t include one of my personal favorites and that was when the Volturi Guard members arrive in the clearing and Rob says, “”Come on, we’re just trying to drink animal blood here.”

The commentary definitely shows Rob’s quirky sense of humor and the camaraderie between him and Kristen.   You can read more of MTV’s favorite lines (including my other favorite about Peter Facinelli’s wig) here.

WHY ARE THE TWILIGHT SOUNDTRACKS SO UNIQUE?

Along with the immense success of the films and books, the soundtracks and the musical scores from the films have also been very successful.  In an interview with the Ottowa Citizen, the series’ musical supervisor Alexandra Patsavas talks about the process from the first three installments.  She talks about the importance that Stephenie Meyer placed on the music that inspired her writing and how that resonates with the fans.  There’s also the impact of having so many bands writing music specifically for the books or films.

I think that music really resonates with fans when it enhances the emotions in the scene and the acting, so I think, more than anything, we’re trying to make the score and the songs seamless — to make sure all the songs feel like Twilight songs, and tell a story to the audience. … I think, definitely, we’re always thinking about Bella and Edward and Jacob and just about the atmosphere of Twilight itself. There are characters and then there is the character of Twilight. … I think the music has to evoke, you know, it’s got an indie feel, it has a smart lyric, it has a memorable hook. Of course, over the three movies, we have sourced many different kinds of scenes — love scenes and love-lost scenes, and fight scenes, but I think there’s a certain through-line.

MICHAEL SHEEN RARELY RECOGNIZED BY FANS

In a recent interview, Michael Sheen talked about how he is rarely recognized by the Twilight fans and figures that it’s because he looks so different from Aro in real life.  He also talks about how he enjoys Aro’s style:

“The costume was very uncomfortable but the look, this was one of my favorite looks I’ve ever had… It’s just so extreme.

“It’s like part ’70s glam rock, part circus ring master, part Brigitte Neilson. It’s a good look.”

SEE ROB IN “WATER FOR ELEPHANTS” TRAILER ON FRIDAY

Back in the summer, we enjoyed the stills from Rob’s film “Water for Elephants” in which he co-stars with Reese Witherspoon.   During the press junket for Witherspoon’s latest release, she revealed that the first trailer for the film will be released this Friday.  “Water for Elephants” will hit the big screen in April 2011.

I love how multi-talented so many of the Twilight stars are and how much they love music – Rob, Billy, Jackson, Kristen, Tinsel, Boo Boo….  What do you think of Tinsel’s single?  Do you think that they might put her on one of the upcoming soundtracks?

Have you watched the Rob and Kristen commentary yet?  If so, what was your favorite comment from the duo?

I think that it’s funny that Michael Sheen doesn’t get recognized by the younger fans.  I’m sure that it is all of the older fans who think of him as that guy who played Tony Blair who are the first to recognize him.  I love his glam rock comment.  I hadn’t thought about it before, but I can totally see it!
