AMC ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF THE WALKING DEAD

It has only been on for two weeks and already it has been reported AMC has ordered a 13-episode second season of The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead tells the story of life after a zombie apocalypse. Based on a comic book series by Robert Kirkman, the show premiered on Halloween, filling Mad Men‘s recently-vacated timeslot following its fourth season conclusion.

ANDREW LINCOLN TALKS ABOUT MAKING ‘THE WALKING DEAD’ SERIES

Last summer, I spoke at length with British actor Andrew Lincoln for EW’s Fall TV Preview just as he was coming to the end of shooting the first season of The Walking Dead in Atlanta. Of course, at the time, there seemed a good chance that it would also be the show’s only season.

Despite the creative input of Shawshank Redemption auteur Frank Darabont and legendary sci fi producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens) AMC’s adaptation of the long-running, Robert Kirkman-penned zombie comic book series, seemed like an unlikely project even from the cable network responsible for such idiosyncratic successes as Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES ELENA AT RISK FROM ANCIENT VAMPIRES

Last week, Elena and the Salvatore brothers were clued in on another foe looking to give them trouble. An ancient vampire that is looking to kill Elena to get to Katherine. Yes, she is still causing trouble even though she is locked up in a tomb. During her long life, she has made a list of enemies and by killing Elena, these enemies can get to her.

CW Television has released previews for the episode. In the extended trailer, Katherine offers to help Elena defeat those that want kill her. Is she trying to turn Elena into another vampire?

TRUE BLOOD GAME ADAPTATION IN THE WORKS

I-Play and Charlaine Harris, author of the best selling Sookie Stackhouse books, which HBO’s True Blood is based on, have teamed together to bring gamers a vampire thriller for PC called Dying for Daylight. The game is set within the universe of True Blood and features Harris’ characters and story elements.

Charlaine Harris commented in the press release about the collaboration to bring her beloved characters into the world of interactive gaming, saying…

“Taking a character into the world of games is great fun and allows us to tell stories and bring characters to life in a whole new way,” …
