Summary

A hot one night stand between friends might spark true love in the latest Billionaires and Bridesmaids novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Billionaire Takes a Bride.

Greer has always been there for Asher, but she wishes she could break through her shyness and show how much she truly loves him. But after a steamy, mindless fling at Hunter and Gretchen’s engagement party, Greer finds herself tossed aside and forced to admit that you can’t love someone who doesn’t acknowledge you exist.

It’s a shame he got her pregnant.

After his fiancée betrayed him and tanked his business in one fell swoop, Asher has spent his time trying to rebuild his wealth and forget the past. But he doesn’t understand why Greer blew him off after their night together—until he catches a glimpse of her belly.

Now Asher is willing to do whatever it takes to convince Greer she belongs with him. And he’s very skilled at the art of persuasion.

Review

Gretchen and Hunter’s wedding day is approaching, but have you ever wondered what is their wedding planner up to?

The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake starts with Greer Chadha-Jansen arriving to the engagement party that she is in charge of for her friend Gretchen. This time Greer has only one goal, find and tell her feelings to her friend Asher Sutton. To help herself, she chooses a dress sexy as possible, and even doesn’t use her glasses. She might not be able to see a thing, but arriving to the party she starts to attract the attention of many of the guys there. Greer is able to find Asher, who seem to be already drunk, and drags him out of the group of “bros” to talk with him. For the first time, Asher is looking at her with lust and arousal. Asher takes her into the maze in the garden, and instead of talking, he starts to kiss her; while Greer had other plans, she has always been in love with him and decides to talk later, and enjoy the moment. Things start to heat up and they end up having the fastest, sloppiest, and worsts sex ever. Greer dreams are crushed as Asher passes out on top her; worst of all when she wakes him up he doesn’t even tell her anything, and continues to drink. Feeling used, she leaves the party and decides to terminate their friendship and block Asher Sutton from her life.

The next morning Asher wakes up in Hunter’s mansion with the worst hangover ever. He has a bloody nose, and while Gretchen is giving him breakfast he remembers what happened last night with Greer. Instead of calling her, he texts her asking for forgiveness and tells her that he was a jerk to her the night before; he asks her to try to put their encounter behind, and still be friends. A quick positive reply from Greer gives him hope, but he doesn’t hear from her in three months until he sees her in her father’s party and notices that she is pregnant.

Without having his friend for three months, Asher has come to the conclusion that he made a huge mistake of not noticing Greer until she was gone. With their child on the way, he plans to do everything he can to win her over, and prove to her that he does love her.

I loved the Billionaire Boys Clubs and Billionaires and Bridesmaids series by Jessica Clare, and since Taming the Billionaire I had wanted to know what had happened to Greer and Asher, as a pregnancy was mentioned in that book.

A thing that I like about these series is that when the girl runs away, the guy always goes after her and does all he can to win her love back, but it’s always funny how they mess up and still continue to do what they are doing. In this case, Asher did the same as all of them, tried to use money to solve everything, and in the end he almost lost Greer again.

The story of Greer’s family was fun to read, and she even mentions that it’s just like the Playboy Empire, with her cold father Stijin Jansen or as she calls him, Vader. It was quite fun the scenes with Vader’s girlfriend planning their wedding, I’m guilty to admit that I use to watch the Girls Next Door reality tv show. I loved the ending of the story and how Greer had the courage to speak up against her father.

It’s always fun to read the books and try to spot the couple that the next book will center around, and all thanks to Gretchen’s matchmaking skills. I can’t wait to read the actual wedding!

In this case, Greer and Asher’s story was romantic and sweet, well, when Asher was truthful to Greer.

If you are a fan of Jessica Clare’s books or the Billionaires and Bridesmaids series, then I recommend you The Billionaire’s Favorite Mistake. In this book you will read about a guy trying to win the girl that he never saw as more than a friend, and try to erase their awful first time.
