Denis O’Hare Exclusive Interview TRUE BLOOD
Source: collider.com
On Season 3 of the hit HBO television series True Blood, actor Denis O’Hare plays Russell Edgington, the flamboyant and deadly vampire king of Mississippi. As one of the oldest and most commanding vampires on the continent, the King is both terrifying and dangerous, with little regard for others, unless they benefit him, in some way.
After the shocking events of the last episode, Episode 9, “Everything is Broken,” sees a grief-stricken Russell vow revenge against his foes, vampire and human. His actions will make him a very different character, for the remainder of Season 3. In a recent interview, Denis O’Hare spoke exclusively to Collider about how he was offered this role on the series without having to audition, developing the look and sound of the character, working with this incredibly talented cast and getting used to talking with fangs.
He also gave some hints as to what viewers can expect for the rest of the season, revealed that his storyline is definitely left open to return for Season 4 and talked about his role as a Roman soldier in the upcoming feature film The Eagle of the Ninth, which he had been shooting in Budapest when he was cast on True Blood. Hit the jump to read all about it.

Sookie and Arlene Complain on ‘True Blood’ Clips
Source: aceshowbiz.com
HBO gave away two more clips of the upcoming “True Blood” episode which has one thing in common, women’s complaint. Sookie is not pleased by the way things are so not normal between her and Bill while Arlene scolds Terry for taking the problem lightly.
In the first clip, Sookie works with Bill to clean up a body in her house while saying “Normal couples do not do this, Bill Compton.” The vampire snaps back, “What would you rather be doing? Sittin’ on the sofa, watching television?” Sookie answers, “Just once I’d like to not find a dead body in my house. Is that asking too much?”

Photos From ‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 2 Opener
Source: aceshowbiz.com
Those hungry for some “The Vampire Diaries” may crave on the first promotional photos for season 2. The pictures set was released for the show’s first episode which is called “The Return” and is scheduled to air September 9 at 8/7c on The CW.
In the upcoming season, the appearance of the villainous Katherine in Mystic Falls throws a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Damon, and Elena, and the other residents of Mystic Falls must choose sides as they fall victim to a new breed of danger. New and unexpected friendships will be forged, allies will become enemies, and hearts will be broken.
Stefan and Damon will be forced to face a villain more evil and diabolical than they ever believed possible. And they’ll take their shirts off, frequently. “They” here are werewolves which come in the form of Michael Trevino’s Tyler Lockwood and his family. “Our big new addition is Mason Lockwood, the mayor’s much younger and cooler brother, who has been estranged from the family,” exec producer Julie Plec said. “His return introduces a lot of questions about what is so special about that creepy Lockwood family.”

IS THE BEING HUMAN SET HAUNTED?
Source: www.bbc.co.uk
It’s Friday 13th and we have some strange news… It seems the new Being Human house is haunted. And we’re not joking.
On a recent set visit the BH Blog Team got a lot more than we bargained for when we uncovered a story that has been spooking the cast for weeks. It seems an unidentified figure has appeared three times, interrupting shots and even pushing a coffee cup across the room. Russell and several members of the crew are convinced that building is haunted, while Aidan is the most vocal of the non-believers.

When she was a deeply troubled teenager, Nikita was rescued from death row by a secret U.S. agency known only as Division, who faked her execution and told her she was being given a second chance to start a new life and serve her country. What they didn’t tell her was that she was being trained as a spy and assassin. Ultimately, Nikita was betrayed and her dreams shattered by the only people she thought she could trust. Now, after three years in hiding, Nikita is seeking retribution and making it clear to her former bosses that she will stop at nothing to expose and destroy their covert operation.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Michael Trevino on Tyler’s rage, Uncle Mason, and nudity. Yes, nudity.
By Carina Adly MacKenzie at Zap2It
Where there are vampires, werewolves are rarely far behind, and “The Vampire Diaries” is no exception. When Zap2it got an exclusive sneak peek on location of Season 2 in Atlanta, I had the chance to take a little stroll around the Lockwood Mansion with Michael Trevino, the man behind Mystic Falls’ newest lycanthrope.
Trevino’s character, Tyler, is not only dealing with some animal instincts, but he’s grieving the death of his dad (and the town “alpha-douche”), Mayor Lockwood. “It’s just adding another layer to the top of his inner rage,” Trevino explains.

NBC Buys ‘Zombies Vs. Vampires’ Spec
By Nellie Andreeva at Deadline

NBC has closed a deal for Zombies vs. Vampires, a spec script by Jake in Progress creator/executive producer Austin Winsberg. I hear NBC bought preemptively the project, produced by Warner Bros. TV and McG’s studio-based Wonderland production banner. Zombies vs. Vampires is described as a “fun buddy cop procedural.”
It is set in a world where zombies are a part of society, controllable with medication. The show’s two leads (one secretly a vampire) are cops assigned to a squad specifically formed to deal with “zombie crime”. Winsberg, McG and Peter Johnson are executive producing.

Zombie Penny or Robot Penny: How can Felicia Day return in Dr. Horrible 2?
By Charlie Jane Anders at io9
When we got a moment to talk to Felicia Day at SDCC, she was full of excitement for the possibilities of bringing back Penny, Dr. Horrible’s tragic love interest. We suggested Zombie Penny, but she was more into Robot Penny.
“Okay, Zombie Penny. I like that one. I get a lot of pitches. I personally am a fan of Robot Penny, because I think that would be a cool make-up design, making me into a robot. I mean who knows? I’d probably still be dead in the ground. But probability is hopefully more than zero that I would be appearing in it.”

I think Robot Penny makes more sense: Dr. Horrible could build her out of grief! I’m interested in Nikita, and since I’ll be watching Vampire Diaries anyway I’ll have to check it out.

At Comic-Con earlier this weekend, the crew of the CW’s Vampire Diaries revealed some upcomingnews about the second season of the show.
While many questions were answered with an “I’m not going to say” or a “possibly,” executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec did give away a few spoilers. A teaser was shown of the season 2 premiere, which had finished shooting the day before.
In regards to future plot points, Williamson said that, “Katherine and Stefan [do] come face to face [in the first episode back].” Additionally, more of Katherine’s backstory will be revealed in the upcoming season.

I am excited for more backstory on Katherine. She is an interesting character and I’d like to see more dramatic acting from Nina that this character can allow her to show. I find Elena a bit one dimensional so far. What are your thoughts?

Alex Kingston to Star in New Supernatural Drama ‘The Oaks’
Source: tvovermind.com
I don’t know about you, but I love Alex Kingston. The ER actress has recently become a genre favorite with her recurring roles as Fiona Banks in FlashForward and as River Song in Doctor Who. She’s enigmatic, charismatic, and has an almost ageless quality that makes you unsure if she’s thirty or fifty (she’s 47, believe it or not).
Now, it looks like genre fans will have another reason to appreciate Kingston, since she’ll be appearing in another supernatural drama. It’s distinctly different from her other sci-fi outings Who and FlashForward, and is more easily akin to Ghost Whisperer or Medium. Interested yet?

TRUE BLOOD WEREWOLF STAR STRUCK BY SOOKIE STACKHOUSE
Joe Manganiello, the latest addition to the brooding cast of True Blood, was a fan of the show before he was cast on it. “The first table read was like being sucked into the television. I’d imagine it like being a kid who loves Michael Jordan and getting drafted into the NBA where you have to guard him,” he tells the Post. “I remember filming the scene and literally thinking, ‘Oh my god, that’s Sookie Stackhouse!’” (We would probably possess a similar inability to separate Anna Paquin from her endearing character.) Anyway, what will happen between Alcide and Sookie this season?

Plot synopses for the TV series prequel books, Stefan’s Diaries
Source: vampire-diaries.net
We got the publication dates for the new Vampire Diaries TV series tie-in books a couple of days ago, and now we have the synopses up for for all three books in the Stefan’s Diaries series. The information comes from the UK publishers, Hodder & Stoughton, via Amazon UK. The first book (Origins) looks to be a novelization of what we know from flashbacks from season one, hopefully with some more tidbits thrown in. Books two and three (Bloodlust and The Craving) are all-new stories set in the past, and the synopses are behind a spoiler cut for those of you who’d prefer to wait to be surprised. The big question we have is whether these stories will be part of the official TV series canon or not.
Now, if we could just get some covers to ogle, we’d be happy bunnies.
Book One: Origins
Set during the Civil War, against a backdrop of grand estates, unimaginable riches, and deadly secrets, three teenagers in Mystic Falls, Virginia enter a torrid love triangle that will span eternity.
Brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore are inseparable until they meet Katherine, a stunning, mysterious woman who turns their world upside down. Siblings turned rivals, the Salvatores compete for Katherine’s affection, only to discover that her sumptuous silk dresses and glittering gems hide a terrible secret: Katherine is a vampire. And she is intent on turning them into vampires so they can live together—forever.

EMMYS 2010: WHICH OUTSIDERS DESERVE NOMINATIONS IN THE LEAD ACTOR AND ACTRESS CATEGORIES?
Source: ew.com
We’re less than 12 hours away from the 2010 Emmy Nominations announcement, and I’m feeling like a kid on Christmas Eve. A kid who is gonna be quickly disappointed to open umpteen boxes of socks, but still… Let me hold on to my feelings of unbridled optimism that Vanessa L. Williams will take home the statuette for four awesome seasons of Ugly Betty for a little while longer. We’ve already discussed our hopes and dreams for unlikely nominees in the Best Supporting Actor and Actress divisions, as well as our out-of-left-field choices for Best Comedy and Drama series. Now let’s turn our attention to the Lead Actor and Actress races. I’ll get the party started:
Regina King, Southland: Didn’t get a nod last year, even though she should’ve. This year, her Det. Lydia Adams struggled to connect with potential new partners while her main man was laid up in a hospital bed, and King’s work was as evocative and subtle as ever. Probably too subtle for voters who fancy ham sandwiches, but still…
Ian Somerhalder, The Vampire Diaries: Yeah, his CW series has its slight moments, but Somerhalder’s impishly sexy performance could never be described as such. Even during the teen-angstiest moments of the vampire-girl-vampire triangle, he’s absolutely riveting. You could almost say he sucks all the blood out of the room.
