“Twilight” Tatoos Make Stephenie Meyer Cry

Kellan Lutz Helping Rebuild in New Orleans
Kellan Lutz and his girlfriend, Annalynne McCord, were in New Orleans last week to help with the ongoing rebuilding effort five years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city and surrounding area on the Gulf Coast. Kellan Tweeted several times about helping in the St. Bernard Parish and posted a few pictures on his Twitter account.
New Still of Kristen Stewart from “Welcome To the Rileys”
MTV has a new, exclusive still of Kristen Stewart from “Welcome To the Rileys”. Kristen plays Mallory, a runaway teen-turned-stripper in New Orleans in the film. A grieving father played by James Gandolfini takes her in in an attempt to ease the pain of his own daughter’s death. In the photo, Mallory is looking at her bruised face in the mirror while Lois Riley (played by Melissa Leo) looks on.

RV Company Owner Challenges Taylor Lautner To Push-Up Contest

MTV Previews Archie “Twilight” Parody #2
MTV has a preview of the second “Archie & Friends: Twilite” parody that hits comic shop shelves on September 8. It reportedly has a “larger than life” conclusion to the story.

What do you think of Stephenie Meyer’s comments on people tattooing themselves with imagery from her books? Do you have any Twilight-inspired tattoos? If not, would you get one?
Kudos to Kellan for his hard work in New Orleans. The city and many other towns along the Gulf Coast are still reeling from the devastation that Hurricane Katrina brought ashore. It’s heartwarming to know that their needs are still being acknowledged by so many five years after the storm. It will take many more years to restore that region.
I am really looking forward to seeing “Welcome To the Rileys”. I love James Gandolfini and it will be interesting to see Kristen in a different role.
What do you think of the Taylor Lautner RV lawsuit/push-up challenge? In all honesty, I wonder if Taylor even knew about the suit being filed before it went viral over the Internet. It’s not uncommon for managers for actors and musicians to file such complaints without their clients being aware due to the Power of Attorney that they’ve been granted. With that said, I love the owner’s response and willingness to donate the money to the children’s hospital if he loses!
What do you think of the Archie comic parody? Have you purchased the first one yet?

James Franco NOT Joining “Breaking Dawn” Cast
There were reports last week speculating on whether James Franco would be joining the cast of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” after he was seen at an interview for Esquire with a copy of one of the Twilight books. GossipCop.com has confirmed that there is no factual basis for the speculation and that Franco is not going to be joining the cast.

More Goodies from Stephenie Meyer’s Press Junket
Twilight Series Theories has posted more transcript along with the audio of their interview with Stephenie Meyer during her recent press junket for the promotion of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. In this clip, she talks about Jacob and love, the angrier film version of Edward, reshoots of the tent scene, and knitting on the set of the film.
SM: See, and I love Taylor. He’s really sweet. He brought kinda that element that I feel like Jacob needed where you see the nice kid who’s really trying. You know he screws up because he’s a dumb teenage boy, but he’s trying. He wants good things. His motivations are very good all along.
Kallie: I did have to…I had to confess to her [Kassie] after re-reading Eclipse that she [Kassie] was right in some ways about Jacob! I love Jacob, but after reading Eclipse…
SM: And he’s someone…And there’s something that I think rarely comes across, which is that, you know we all love the vampires, right? We know the Cullens. We know they’re good people. We know that they’re not what Jacob thinks and so we don’t give him any credit. We think that he’s being…[That he’s] hating them even knowing the good in them, and that’s not true. He really feels like they are the way that we kind of feel about um…My brain is so messed up…

What do you think of the news that James Franco will NOT be in “Breaking Dawn”? Disappointed? Glad? I, for one, am actually relieved. Sorry…not a big fan. I am, however, excited at the prospect of Lee Pace playing Garrett!!
So, will anyone be bidding on the lunch date with Peter Facinelli? I wish I had some extra cash to throw down for that. I actually would probably want his wife to join us so that I could pick her brain about her time on 90210 back in the day. I had such a crush on Dylan McKay!
What do you think of the Stephenie Meyer interviews? I love hearing her point of view on differences between the books and the films and am thrilled that she will be a producer for “Breaking Dawn”.

Robert Pattinson Featured in NYC Art Exhibit
A rather distorted likeness of Robert Pattinson is part of an art exhibit in New York City that runs at a gallery in Chelsea through August 27. The mosaic-style portrait of Pattinson titled “Twilight Feelings” by artist Mark Flood gives him an exageratedly long neck and a protruding chin.

Anna Kendrick Defends “Twilight” Fans
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal to promote her new film, “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”, actress Anna Kendrick defended Twi-hards by basically telling the haters not to buy tickets for the films if they dislike “Twilight” so much.
She was quoted as saying, “People like to make fun of the fans who camp out but people have renaissance faires; people do Civil War reenactments; people do what they like,” Kendrick said to Speakeasy at the Wall Street Journal. “I’m tired of hearing people rag on the fans. If you don’t like ‘Twilight,’ don’t buy a ticket.”
In an article posted on Examiner.com, the author suggests that Anna went too far in her comments and states that the comment might have more meaning if it had come from someone like Kristen Stewart by noting, If this was Kristen Stewart talking this might have some real meaning because she is portraying one of the three main characters in the ‘Twilight’ movie but Anna is a second tier actress at best.

The Hillywood Show Releases “Eclipse” Parody Teaser Trailer
The Hillywood Show has released a teaser trailer for their upcoming parody of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” to be released in the fall.
Get Nail Polish from Twilight Beauty
Check out the new nail polish from Twilight Beauty. The shade, red velvet, retails for $6.99, features the Cullen crest on the bottle, and is available via their website.
So, what are your thoughts on the portrait of Robert Pattinson? I’d love to know the artist’s explanation of his work.
Kudos to Anna Kendrick for standing up to defend “Twilight” fans, although I’m sure that Summit is cringing at her comments to the haters, telling them not to buy tickets. I have to disagree with the author of the article in her assessment of Anna being a “second tier” actress. I’m going to assume that Ms. Jill has not seen the films because, if she had, she would know that Anna has some of the best scenes in the films as Jessica – especially in “New Moon”. There is a segment of society out there who feels as if “Twilight” is being forced upon them. No one is holding them at gunpoint to purchase tickets. If they don’t like it, they don’t have to go see it. It’s really that simple. I’ll give Anna credit for knowing that there are just some people out there who are not going to give it a chance and those are, most likely, the people she directed her comment toward.
The Hillywood Teaser was a real tease…not much was revealed in this one. I’m really looking forward to seeing it because their parodies are so well done. In the meanwhile, I highly recommend their parody of “The Runaways“. Check it out!

TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS AUGUST 9TH: TEEN CHOICE AWARDS, ANNA KENDRICK, VAMPIRES SUCK & MORE
Author: Caro | Filed under: Movie News, News BlogTwilight jewelry for back-to-school
www.moviematics.com: Teens across America lined up to see the much-anticipated Twilight Eclipse and now return to school donning Twilight-inspired jewelry. Twilight charms for bracelets, anklets, and necklaces are the rage and charm factories have geared up to meet the demand.
As students hit the school grounds for the coming year, you may notice a strange thing: students at Centennial High School or Central High School may have charms not with “CHS,” but instead with “FHS” for “Fork High School.” If you are going to get caught up in the school spirit this year, why your own school when you can craft a bracelet around a fictional school in Fork, Washington. Add a graduation cap charm and an “FHS” charm to your bracelet and you will be good to go.

Edward Cullen Strips Down in Twilight Spoof Film

www.people.com: It’s a lot of pressure to walk in Robert Pattinson’s footsteps as vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen, but somebody’s got to do it.
Matt Lanter, the hunky actor who plays 90210‘s Liam Court, has stepped up to the plate to play Edward in the Twilight saga spoof, Vampires Suck.
But judging from Lanter’s words, it sounds like the spoofed version will be a bit more racy than the original flicks. “I’m naked in the movie,” the actor, 27, told PEOPLE at the Teen Choice Awards in L.A. on Sunday.

‘Twilight’ And Its Obsessive Fans Help Cast Sweep The Teen Choice Awards
hollywoodcrush.mtv.com: It seems only fair that “The Twilight Saga,” which has been sweeping fan-voted award shows continuously since they first hit the scene in 2008, should win the “Most Obsessive Fans” award at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. Who, Twilighters? Never in a million years!
Ashley Greene accepted the surfboard award, saying, “You guys are so fantastic and amazing and I can’t thank you guys enough for being there for us. I know we all really, really appreciate you guys.” But she knew the real person fans wanted to hear something from — and the real reason they are so obsessive — was Robert Pattinson, and she tried to get him to come up to the mic.

Taylor Hotter Than Rob, Rob Doesn’t Care

ca.eonline.com: When you watch the Teen Choice Awards on Fox tonight get ready for the Taylor Lautner show.
The New Moon star wins big, accepting three awards on stage, even beating out Robert Pattinson for Choice Male Hottie (who won last year with Megan Fox) and Choice Movie Actor Fantasy.
So was their any bitter blood between the costars who were seated next to each other? And how did Kristen Stewart‘s absence affect the show?
First off, Taylor and Rob couldn’t have been more supportive. Or couldn’t care less, you decide. After losing Choice Hottie not even 30 seconds went by before he looked super happy deep into convo and laughing with Ashley Greene.
“It’s great to win something outside of Twilight,” R.Pattz told the audience during his acceptance speech.

Cancer Patient Treated to “Twilight” Themed Bedroom Makeover
Source: The Desert Sun
Lorraine Uribe is a lot like other 18-year-old girls in her love of Edward Cullen and the magical world of the “Twilight” series.
But while Bella battles ageless vampires and teenage angst, Uribe is battling a rare ovarian cancer from her home in Coachella.
This week, Uribe’s bedroom got revamped, “Twilight”-style, thanks to a La Quinta couple and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
La Quinta residents Arlynn and Paul Feldman have been raising money to grant wishes in the Coachella Valley for three years now. This year, they set a fundraising goal to make enough money to fund wishes for the 11 local children on the waiting list at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County and the Inland Empire.

Stephenie Meyer talks Edward Cullen making Bella wait for “happy time” and Does she think Eclipse sends a good message?
www.twifans.com: Stephenie Meyer conjured up the morally ethical vampire, Edward Cullen. So who better to ask why? Why is he so good at keeping Bella’s virtue intact? Why is it so important – really?
Transcript
Q: I’m curious about Eclipse because at the point where…I love Eclipse because Edward becomes a lot more flirtatious, and you get to kinda see that.
SM: They have some moments, which are hard to do with fiction because everybody wants constant pacing. I tend to slow down. A lot of what my editors did was cut. Because I just wanna sit and “Let’s have a nice moment. Let’s have a happy time.”
Q: One of the most “nice moments” is when they’re in Edward’s room in bed, and he proposes, okay? There are lots of people that have asked questions, I’ve probably had 10 or 20 just within that one scene. But the one I want the answer to the most is: Edward at one point, he kind-of caves. Just a smidge. When he says “no, no, stop, we’re not doing this until we are married” — is it more out of a moral issue, or is it more out of “I want to make sure you keep up your end of the deal”?
SM: They’re equal parts. There are a couple of things. One is, Edward was born in 1901. And in his mind — he understands the world more clearly than we do. He hears everybody’s thoughts. But to him, this is kind of a…for him it’s a very disrespectful… And he can’t get away from the taboos of his youth. It would be wrong to take advantage of her, in his mind. And obviously, she has a completely different viewpoint. Her viewpoint of it is very modern. She knows that she is with him forever, and she doesn’t see his point. But he just comes from a different place. And I really like, every place I could put in, that would really date him. Because I like when he is…..109.

Taylor Lautner of ‘Twilight’ fame — images made of 500 pieces of candy
www.examiner.com: The star of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Taylor Lautner, along with TV star and designer Kim Kardashian have been turned into candy — their images, that is. According to a new report, both celebrities’ images have been created by an artist who used licorice to achieve the look. Is the an example of having reached a new level of fame?
As E! Online, the candy images are part of a new art program called We Like to Watch TV — an art program in San Francisco, California. Jason Mercier is the artist, along with partner Adam J. Ansell to come up with the idea and make it into a reality.
Vampires Suck vs. Twilight Saga
www.reelzchannel.com: New spoof movie Vampires Suck, from “the guys who couldn’t sit through another vampire movie” (aka the guys behind Disaster Movie and Epic Movie), looks set to either entertain or infuriate fans of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga, as it attempts to poke fun at the movie phenomenon. For the Twihaters, aka disgruntled boyfriends and husbands, it may be an even better offering than David Slade’s addition for Eclipse.
We take a closer look at some of the scenes Vampires Suck parodies in its official trailer, which includes the all-important paper-cut scene from New Moon. Remember, Twilighters: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. No, really.

The Vampires Suck trailer starts as any Twilight Saga trailer should: with a sweeping view of what is supposed to be an aerial look at Forks, Washington. Even the score soundtrack is an exact homage to that found in Twilight — these producers sure know what they’re doing!

Oh, look! It’s the Twilight font, in all its silver shimmery goodness. Twilighters would recognize this writing anywhere — after all, it’s almost as iconic as the book cover. Add to that a dark, brooding black background, and you get the vampire picture.
