‘THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’ DAWNS ON PETER FACINELLI WHILE HE MOONLIGHTS ON SHOWTIME’S ‘NURSE JACKIE’

www.ifmagazine.com: Peter Facinelli spent a significant part of last year commuting between the New York second-season set of Showtime’s NURSE JACKIE (which completed its run Monday night), in which he plays emotionally immature Dr. Fitch Cooper, and the Vancouver environs of the feature film TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE, in which he essays (as he has throughout the franchise) the wise vampire patriarch Dr. Carlisle Cullen.

The least confidential deal in Hollywood has finally gone public.

Summit Entertainment announced Friday that yes, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be split into two separate films, with part one slated for a Nov. 18, 2011, release.

And good news: Whoever doesn’t die in Eclipse is coming back for Breaking Dawn, even those hard-to-pin-down Cullens, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.

Loved the new images, especially the ones of Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie and Emmett I’m really looking forward to seeing Bree’s scene now that we know more about her.  Those nomads scene will be really interesting. I like reading cast interviews, some can be fun and we get to know new things about the films or funny moments. I’d ask Kristen what did they to between breaks to kill time I love Peter as Dr, Coop, he is just so hilarious and different from Dr. Carlisle. It’s fun to see him in those kind of roles.

JACKSON RATHBONE ON JASPER HALE’S DARK SIDE IN “ECLIPSE”

In a recent interview with the New York Post, Jackson Rathbone discussed his character, Jasper Hale, in the upcoming installment of the Twilight Saga films, “Eclipse”.

“The thing I like about Jasper’s arc is that it’s very developed — you don’t know much about him in the first film. He’s always in pain but don’t know why, until the second film, when you realize that he’s the newest to the family and he’s basically dying of hunger. It’s very difficult to live that vampryic lifestyle. So he’s having trouble adjusting. In the third film, we get to see Jasper’s backstory – see who he used to be and why he’s having such a hard time transitioning.”

The Robert Pattinson fansite, Loving Rob, got their hands on the images for the 2011″The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” calendar to be available for sale in July.  They report on the site that the image for Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen are the same pictures from the one-sheet released in March.

Though it’s not yet official, this week’s news that Dreamgirls director Bill Condon has pulled into the lead to direct the remaining two films in the Twilight franchise has given us plenty of food for thought. What makes the Oscar-winning razzle-dazzle specialist a shoe-in to direct Breaking Dawn over other rumored contenders Sofia Coppola and Gus Van Sant?

Catherine Hardwicke had indie film respect (Twilight), Chris Weitz had slick CG epic filmmaking under his belt (New Moon), and David Slade seemed like a perfect genre director to bring the franchise into horror-thriller territory (Eclipse). But while each of the previous Twilight Saga directors has been well-suited to their respective adaptations in different ways, Condon brings with him a very important element that could help the franchise go out with a bang: his shiny Academy Award statuette, won in 1999 for writing the horror-related flick Gods and Monsters.

Condon notched another Oscar nomination for scripting 2002′s Chicago, the film musical that effectively relaunched the musical genre in modern-day Hollywood. And even when he didn’t directly receive Oscar nods or wins, his films have (Dreamgirls earned eight nominations and won two Academy Awards; Kinsey earned one nomination; and Gods and Monsters earned actors Ian McKellen and Lynn Redgrave their own respective nods). Reading Jackson’s comments on Jasper in “Eclipse” gets me so much more anxious to see the film.  I think that Jasper’s back story is one of the most intriguing and can’t wait to see it played out in the movie.

JACKSON RATHBONE GRATIFIED BY UNCOVERING JASPER’S PAIN

In a recent interview with MTV, Jackson Rathbone discussed his role as Jasper Hale in the next installment of The Twilight Saga.  Their report also mentions the fact that a select, special group of people who have seen the rough cut of the film say that Rathbone gives a “breakout performance” in the telling of Jasper’s story.

Though we don’t learn much about Jackson’s Jasper Hale in “Twilight” and “New Moon,” his background is explored much more in “Eclipse.” “I’m excited for a step up with Jasper’s character,” Jackson said. “It’s been two, three years and now I get to kind of go outside and show a little bit more of what makes Jasper tick. We get to go into his back story — see where he came from, who he was before, what makes him who we see in the first film of ‘Twilight,’ what makes him seem like he’s always in pain, why he’s always in pain … because he is.”

Some of Jackson’s favorite scenes to film were the ones that explore Jasper’s origins. “Whenever we got to go into Jasper’s back story,” he said, “I got to don the Civil War regalia and ride a horse. It had been years since I’d been on a horse, so it was fun. I used to ride when I was in Texas.”

JACKSON RATHBONE ON “LOVE-LUST” IN “THE TWILIGHT SAGA:ECLIPSE”

For all of you Team Jasper fans out there, today is your lucky day because we have another interview with that the man who plays the Southern gentleman vampire, Jasper Hale.  In a recent interview with FearNet.com, he discussed filming the scenes that tell Jasper’s story of his transformation and life before Alice as well as what it was like to film the fight scenes that everyone is anxious to see on the big screen.

Sounds like the type of turning scene your fans are going to love seeing. From the books and films, we know that vampires are turned with bites in various places; we’ve seen Carlisle, for example, bite Esme rather romantically on the neck to change her. So… can you tell us where exactly Maria bites Jasper?

Where does she bite him? Well, I don’t want to give everything away. I’ve got to keep some little secrets. [Laughs] I think people are going to be pretty happy about it.

Fair enough! Were there any particularly funny moments you had while filming Eclipse?

You know, whenever you get into these fight scenes it gets a little funny because you’re going after each other, and we’ve all been such good friends for three years now, so throwing a punch at your friend is kind of weird. Jasper has to train the Cullen family, so it was weird… I didn’t want to throw punches at Nikki Reed or Ashley [Greene]! It just didn’t feel right to me to hit a girl. I was raised very Southern, and that’s very wrong where I come from.

PETER FACINELLI INSPIRED BY SESAME STREET?

Showbizspy.com is reporting that Peter Facinelli stated that The Count from Sesame Street inspired him in his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen.  The article includes the following quote from Facinelli:

“I love The Count from Sesame Street,” he says. “He’s my favorite vampire.  I owe a lot to him for inspiring me and vampires everywhere!”

It’s a rather slow day now that the hubbub surrounding the New Moon DVD release has died down and the Eclipse trailer is out.  We’ll have to see what tomorrow holds!

It’s nice to see Jackson gaining a little bit of the spotlight and I’m sure that all of the members of Team Jasper wholeheartedly agree with me.  I am really looking forward to seeing Jasper’s story in the next movie.  (It doesn’t hurt  that this Southern girl loves a good-looking man in a uniform or on a horse…to see both is even better!)  I imagine that it could be very difficult for the guys to find it in themselves to throw punches at the girls during the scenes.  I wonder if the girls had any trouble?  Ha!

I can’t help but want to call bullsh** on the Peter Facinelli quote.  I can easily see him making that comment in jest and then some site running it as gospel.

Ginny had a crush on Harry since they first met. But since Harry was best friends with Ron, he never saw Ginny as girlfriend material. As they grew up they both realized their deep attraction to each other was more than friendship.

What attracts them to each other?
Since they have been friends for so long their love manifested from it. When Harry realized his attraction to Ginny, the rest just falls into place.

Why do the make such a timeless couple?
Being “the Chosen One”  brought much danger to anyone he loved and since Ginny loved him for being Harry and not anything else it made them a strong and timeless couple.

What are some of the problems they faced because of  being a couple?
Harry and Ginny have two major problems because they are a couple. One is because Ginny is the sister of  Harry’s best friend which is usually a no-go. And also, since Harry was fighting against the Death Eaters and Voldemort, he did not want to risk Ginny getting hurt because they were together.

How did they get together?
Alice saw Jasper and the Cullen family in one of her visions. She met Jasper in a dinner in Philadelphia, and they both fell in love during their adventures to find the Cullens by 1950.

What attracts them to each other?
I think the inevitability of their meeting created a foundation for their relationship. Also, the fact that they were both nomads and then they found each other solidified their love.

Why do they make such a timeless couple?
The fact that Alice saw Jasper in her vision of the future makes their love inevitable. They are timeless because in a time where they were both alone they found each other and haven’t looked back since.

What are some of the problems they faced because of being a couple?
There aren’t any problems that they face as couple, but since they are participants in one of the largest vampire Covens they are usually in danger of those who want to challenge them.
