PETER FACINELLI’S PLANS FOR 2010
www.examiner.com: When Twilight Lexicon asked Facinelli what the year 2010 held in store for Facinelli, he revealed that his plans stood waiting in the balance of what his commitments held in store for him – particularly with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and a possible third season of his Showtime series hit Nurse Jackie.
Right now I’m looking forward to the holiday break. Next year there’s a couple of movies I’m looking at doing in the spring. There’s a movie that I wrote that I’m trying to get off the ground. I’d like to do a movie in the spring to early summer and then hopefully, you know, if we do Nurse Jackie III I’ll be back in the fall. And if we do Breaking Dawn I’ll be back in the fall/winter hopefully. Everything’s kind of up in the air with the end of Nurse Jackie III and Breaking Dawn. So that… I have to sit and wait. But right now I have a window between January and August that I can stuff. Right now I’m just seeing what I want to do.

TWILIGHT SAGA NEWS FOR DECEMBER 14TH
Author: Nikki | Filed under: Book/Movie Merch, Interviews, Movie News, News Blog
NEW MOON HELPS GREENE ACHEIVE STARDOM
www.usatoday.com: Just like the first two Twilight movies, Eclipse has a different director, David Slade, who Greene says is “definitely different from Catherine (Hardwicke) and Chris (Weitz). He is technically the most specific director that I’ve ever worked with.” Greene says fans of the franchise should expect Slade to “bring a darker element to this film. He seems to kind of specialize in that.”
That darker side includes Alice as well. “In (Twilight), you see that quality about Alice that makes her so lovable is she’s so positive and upbeat. In (New Moon), you see how she takes these uncomfortable situations and she’s sassy and she brings light to a dark scene,” Greene says. “In (Eclipse), you get to see a little bit of a darker side when her family is in danger. You get to see once again that she is an animal and she’s not human.”

BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD ON ECLIPSE
www.mtv.com: ”There’s quite an extraordinary finale,” Howard told MTV News of the scene that took weeks of intense fight training to prepare for. “That was very fun to do.”
Those well-versed in Stephenie Meyer’s fantastical world of vampires and werewolves know that the third “Twilight” installment focuses heavily on elements of love and war. In addition to the love triangle involving Edward, Bella and Jacob, “Eclipse” follows the actions of vampire Victoria, who creates an army of newborn bloodsuckers to avenge the death of her mate James in “Twilight.”
Howard was careful not to reveal any details about the pivotal scene, but she did concede that the battle will likely trump the ballet-studio fight in “Twilight” and the Volturi rumble in “New Moon.”

ECLIPSE SECRETS REVEALED!
www.etonline.com: ”I was excited about the photo shoot. I wasn’t too nervous, I’ve been in a prom dress before,” said 22-year-old Ashley, looking glamorous in a strapless, floor-length purple gown.
Ashley, whose Teen Prom issue hits newsstands Dec. 22, also showed off a bruise on her arm (rendered practically invisible with makeup) that she sustained while training for the eagerly awaited third ‘Twilight’ film, ‘Eclipse.’
“Until I had to shoot in prom dresses, I didn’t get any bruises. I was doing really well,” she smiled. “It’s horrible, but it’s been really fun. [Our moves] will look really, really good by the time we finally get to the fight sequence because in ‘Eclipse’ … we have to fight this new-born vampire army.”
She adds that her training involves “a lot of learning to run and jump off walls and land on people’s shoulders, and flips and throwing your body just ways that you would never, under any circumstance, normally do.”

HOW TO DRESS LIKE BELLA
www.collegefashion.net: Love it or hate it, you have to admit that the Twilight franchise is beginning to reach fever pitch. Everywhere I go, it’s “Team Edward” this, or “Team Jacob” that!
But man candy aside, one thing all of us here at College Fashion can agree on is that many of you seem to love the main character Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) and her effortless style. We’ve received tons of emails requesting a breakdown of Bella’s wardrobe, so here it is!
Bella’s style is very low-maintenance, yet she still looks gorgeous at all times. Everything has a pretty yet effortless “I just threw it on” look to it. While it is clear that Bella would much rather stare at Edward all day than spend hours getting ready (who can blame her), she does have a specific sense of style.

TWILIGHT INSPIRES NEW PRODUCTIONS OF BRONTE STORIES
www.guardian.co.uk: The Brontës are back in fashion – with a bit of help from Bella Swan. New films of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre will shoot next spring, and a script about the teenage fantasies of the four Brontë siblings is in the works.
The film-makers are piggybacking off the success of the Twilight saga, which has sparked a renewed enthusiasm among financiers for gothic romance; the Brontës in particular. Wuthering Heights is one of Twilight heroine Bella Swan’s favourite books, frequently referenced in the third episode Eclipse, whose storyline is inspired by Emily Brontë’s only novel.
The producers of the latest Brontë projects are targeting the Twilight audience with younger casts than previous versions and scripts that emphasise the sensational gothic elements alongside a contemporary psychological realism.

Book Two: Twilight Saga
Summary
It’s nearing Bella Swan’s 18th birthday and her devoted boyfriend, Edward Cullen and his family, decide they want nothing more than to throw her an extravagate party to celebrate. All is well in Bella’s life, she has a man she loves and his family accepts her despite the fact that they are vampires and she a human.
Happiness can’t last forever though, for a single drop of blood while unwrapping a gift, causes Bella’s life to be put in danger. In order to protect the one he loves, Edward has to leave the woman he loves, leaving Bella heartbroken and depressed.
Months pass as Bella passes the day in zombie-like behavior, but when she finds out that thrill-seeking activities, such as motorcycle riding, allow her to “be with” Edward, she doesn’t hesitate. Comforting her through all this time is her best friend, Jacob Black, but even that happiness can’t last forever. As Jacob grows farther from her with his secrets and Bella tries desperately to cling to some small happiness, Bella’s world turns upside down when Alice brings news of Edward.
Review
I have to admit straight away that my opinion here is going to be bias. My favorite books of the Twilight Saga are by far New Moon and Eclipse. Why you ask? There’s hardly any Edward in New Moon, how could you like it more than Twilight? Well it’s pretty simple in my mind… action.
When Stephenie brought us Twilight we were blown away by the realism of the world in which vampires existed. Most of us women saw a little of ourselves in Bella as we saw the world through her eyes. So what did New moon do differently?
Well for starters Stephenie decided it was time for a little conflict in her books. Right away we have the conflict of interest… should Edward stay with Bella and risk her safety or should he leave. Stephenie opted for some depressing, albeit needed, alone time for Bella. The worlds not all bad though. A character, which originally was intended to be only minor, blew us away as Bella’s devoted puppy dog; in more than one way.
So why do I love New Moon over Twilight? Could it be just Jacob’s presence? Maybe, but I think what ultimately made this book good was the love triangle between Edward, Jacob and Bella. By the end of this book she has to make the choice between the boy she’s known since childhood and the man who made her soul burn bright. In my opinion Bella’s choices in Twilight came so easy… her only hurtle was finding out what Edward was and then things were mostly ok, minus some vampire stalking action. In New Moon everything is action and conflict. From the birthday party all the way to Edward’s rescue in Italy, everything in Bella’s life is dark, tense, and on unsteady ground. This left me with some page turning madness as I tried to read another page before my train stopped in San Francisco.
Overall, one of the best books in the series. So read it if you haven’t.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND TEAM EDWARD
www.media.www.chicagoflame.com: While fictional vampires are certainly very popular, there are cases of “real” vampires that have completely different origins. Culturally, vampires are relevant worldwide. Paul Barber, an anthropologist and author of “Vampires, Burial, and Death,” explains that almost every culture has a version of the vampire. Paul states that vampires “have a surprising resemblance to the European vampire.”
The belief in vampires comes from superstitions and mistaken suppositions about post-mortem decay. The first accounts of vampires can be found during the European Middle Ages. The stories follow a consistent plot: something horrible would happen to a person, a family, or a town. Before, there were no scientists that could explain weather patterns (that can cause droughts), or germ theory (which causes infectious diseases), therefore any bad event with no obvious explanation could easily be blamed on a vampire. Villagers believed they were cursed and decided to combine this with the horrors they felt over the dead. This led to the conclusion that possibly recently buried people were at fault, because they came back from their graves to do malicious things.

WHAT WILL SUMMIT DO AFTER THE TWILIGHT SAGA IS DONE?
www.examiner.com: Summit Entertainment, the company that produces and distributes the “Twilight” movies, apparently doesn’t intend to get out of the vampire business after it finishes adapting Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling series of novels. The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog is reporting that the company is readying “Vlad,” a script by actor Charlie Hunnam, and is in negotiations with music video and photographer Anthony Mandler to direct the project. Brad Pitt is producing with Dede Gardner via the duo’s Plan B Entertainment production shingle. Clearly, even superstars are aware of the current box clout of the undead. (Robert Downey, Jr., reportedly has been offered the role of the vampire Lestat in a reboot of Anne Rice’s vampire novels.)
There are only four “Twilight” novels to date, climaxing with “Breaking Dawn,” which has yet to go before the cameras. Summit Entertainment is said to be seriously considering breaking “Dawn” into two movies. Even if they do, with “Eclipse,” the third movie in the series already filmed and due for release in June, the series will be finished after two more movies.
”Vlad” centers on Dracula as a young prince. Vlad Tepes is an actual historical figure, a fifteenth century warlord in the area of eastern Europe sometimes known as Transylvania. He’s known to history as Vlad the Impaler, a nickname he acquired because of his favorite method of disposing of military and political enemies, or frankly, pretty much anyone who annoyed him. Another nickname he picked up along the way was “Dracula,” which means “son of the devil” or “son of the dragon.”
