Top 10 Sexiest Vampires For Valentine’s Day

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend and that means expensive chocolates, teddy bears, and vampires. Vampires?! You might be asking yourself what the walking dead has to do with the most romantic holiday of the year? Recently, Hollywood has been capitalizing on the long running obsession that people have had with the creatures, and it’s probably because the majority of the ones we’ve seen have been ridiculously good looking. Sure, they’d drain you like a bowl of spaghetti, but we just can’t shake them.

So this Valentine’s Day curl up with your significant other and watch your favorite vampire flick that will hopefully feature some of the pretty men and women who made our list.

10. Edward Cullen – The Twilight Saga

Edward Cullen is the leading vampire in the Twilight series, and he drives women bat-sh*t crazy. I don’t know if it’s his emaciated look, or perfectly coiffed hair that turns heads but whatever it is it’s working. When it comes to dominating young women (and their mothers), this guy takes the cake. What’s not to love about a man who watches you while you sleep and constantly reminds you that he wants to kill you?

4. Louis de Pointe du Lac – Interview With A Vampire

Interview With a Vampire is one of those films that should be placed in the horror genre, but all the scary stuff is constantly overlooked because of its two leading stars. The film featured Tom Cruise (in his hottie days) as Lestat de Lioncourt and Brad Pitt as Louis de Pointe du Lac. Du Lac was a victim of circumstance, and a sad soul who made you want to hug him despite the fact that he’d snap you neck at any moment. He was Emo, before Emo was cool.

1. Eric Northman – HBO’s True Blood

Our number one vampire pick isn’t just the flavor of the week, he is the real deal. “True Blood’s” Eric Northman’s not the conventional romantic or even perverse vampire we typically see on television and film. He doesn’t go and attach himself to any woman with a pulse, he’s particularly bored with the human race and only sees them as a source of food. So when it comes to his love life, you have to be a pretty special woman to catch his attention. His attitude may come off as a bit condescending but the fact that he’s a 6′4, Scandinavian Adonis helps us cope.

I just love the list that screencave came up with. I see some of my favorite vamps on here, I also like how they included 2 of the most sexiest, bad ass women vampires. Goes to show, hot vamps are not only guys, and that women can bring in an audience as well. I’m a little sad to see Edward Cullen as #10 on the list, he is way sexy than some of the others, like David from The Lost Boys. Maybe it’s more about the ‘fear’ factor, and an actual vampire, you know the bad ones we all grow up watching, maybe with that sense of danger and evil, they came across way more appealing than a sparkly, bronze-haired vegetarian. ;)

What do you think of the list? Did you favorites make it, and do you agree with the order of hotness? Did they leave any sexy vamps out, if so, who?

Author: Chris54 | Filed under: News Blog, OBS Fun, Top 5/10

What is it about this month, that makes you dust off your old VHS tapes and play those wicked scary horror movies?? Oh yea, because it’s October, the month for Halloween. I’m a big fan of scary flicks, have been since around the age of 7 (maybe that is what is wrong with me), I grew up watching the classic zombies, serial killers, monsters, and even the once frightening vampires. This month is most exciting for Halloween, but also because our favorite spooky movies play on TV, so you curl up on your couch with popcorn and hopefully a viewing partner and watch a few of those terrifying movies…

In honor of this gruesome pastime, OBS staff members have complied Top 10 or Top 5 lists. These aren’t your basic Top 10 list of scary movies, no we like to get a bit more interesting and dive head first into the genre that scares the daylights out of you. We got lists ranging from Best Stephen King movies that make you fear clowns to villains that still make you feel uneasy about visiting a place in Texas, to those movies ‘based on true events’, that make you want to never step into a dark forest again….

Anne Rice fans, rejoice. The author of such bestsellers as Interview with the Vampire,  The Witching Hour, and Violin has announced the publication of a new novel. Angel Time, which will be the first volume of The Songs of the Seraphim series, will be released on October 27 of this year.

Photobucket

Her newest novel relates the story of a contract killer who is confronted by an angel who offers him the opportunity to stop taking lives and start saving them instead. The protagonist, who once aspired to be a priest, accepts and is transported back in time to thirteenth century England. He then begins his quest for salvation during what was a violent and dangerous time in British history.

Rice has not abandoned her plans to complete her series of novels based on the life of Christ. On the contrary, she is continuing to work on the third volume in the series even while working on The Songs of the Seraphim.

I honestly will read anything Anne Rice puts out, but “Angel Time” sounds very interesting and fresh!

Did you know . . .

. . . that before German director F.W. Murnau killed the vampire Orlock (Max Schreck) with the rising sun in his 1922 silent-screen masterpiece, “Nosferatu,” sunlight NEVER was fatal to vampires in any myths, legends or even Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel “Dracula” — but after “Nosferatu,” it became a near-universal aspect of vampire lore and literature?

. . . that Max Schreck’s last name means terror or fright in German, and it was his real name?

. . . that writer-producer Alan Ball discovered the Sookie Stackhouse novels, the inspiration for his series “True Blood,” because he arrived early for a dentist’s appointment and decided to kill time at a nearby Barnes & Noble store?

. . . that writer Anne Rice loudly protested the idea of Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise starring in director Neil Jordan’s film version of her “Interview With the Vampire,” saying it was like casting Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer to play vampires Louis and Lestat? (She reversed course after seeing the film.)

More facts here.

Wow, interesting facts.  I love all the fun background information.

What do you think of the vampire facts? Did you know this information?

Do you think Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt were right for their parts in Interview with a Vampire?

9.) Lous de Pointe du Lac:(Interview with the vampire):He tries so hard to be compassionate, but the urges nearly end him. These could have been vampires from books, movies or television series.

4.) Bill Compton: (True Blood): Steamy, strong, and very attractive.

3.) Stefan:(The Vampire Diaries): One of the new Vampires on the cinematic screen, so hot.

2.) Damon: (The Vampire Diaries): He’s Stefan’s brother (see number 3), they make them beautiful in a set don’t they? His eyes almost kill me, make me wish to beg him to make me immortal.

1.) Edward Cullen:(The Twilight Saga): Now honestly, I would have rather put Jasper Hale here (as portrayed by Jackson Rathbone) but they don’t do poor Jackson any bit of justice in those movies. He is naturally gorgeous! But I digress.

Read the complete list here

Pretty good list. I’ll have to think about who would make my top ten list.

Who would make your top ten list of fictional vampires? Do you agree with Edward Cullen being number one on this list?
