Tantalizing Hints For Doctor Who Season Six, Supernatural Season Six And Fringe Season Three!
By Charlie Jane Anders at io9

Who’s Doctor Who’s time-traveler going to meet next year? How does Supernatural follow that slam-bang conclusion? What shocking choice could await us on Fringe? Plus John Carter Of Mars, Spider-Man, Splice, Jonah Hex, The Gates, Chuck, V and Lost spoilers.
Joanna Page, star of Gavin And Stacey, is going to play a “long-lost relative” of the Doctor in a couple of episodes of season six — and it could turn into a series regular deal, possibly. This is via the Daily Star, one of Britain’s notoriously reliable tabloids, so grain of salt indicated. And yet, I wonder — could the “long lost relative” be Susan Campbell, nee Foreman?

5 Lessons TV Should Learn After Losing Heroes
By Scott Thill at Wired

NBC finally canceled Heroes, a move early adopters of the ultimately underwhelming superhero show probably saw coming soon after Season 2.
But all is not lost. Heroes‘ meteoric rise and ignominious fall leave behind much residual data for those looking to build faster, stronger, smarter and more resilient programming. Here are five ways upcoming NBC show The Cape — or any other superhero series knocking around television executives’ heads — can avoid an early demise.
1) Let Heroes Be Heroes
Murky moral dilemmas over newfound powers are 20th-century concerns. The new millennium’s heroes love their powers, and they’re not afraid to use them. Last century, comics like Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns and the films they spawned like Tim Burton’s Batman psychoanalyzed their characters deeply. Which means this millennium’s savvy viewers have already been there and done that.

Nikita is back to kick ass on The CW; CBS kills Ghost
By Kathie Huddleston at Sci Fi Wire

The CW jumped on the spy bandwagon for the fall and has green-lighted Nikita as a series, starring uber-hot martial-arts expert Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard) in a reboot/follow-up to USA’s beloved spy-fi show La Femme Nikita.
McG (Terminator: Salvation) will executive-produce the remake, along with Peter Johnson from Warner Brothers TV and Wonderland Productions.
In other TV news, CBS is officially canceling its Friday-night staple, Ghost Whisperer, in a surprise move. Meanwhile, its companion series, Medium, was renewed, reported The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed. Both shows suffered a serious tumble in the ratings, just like most shows that aired on Fridays this season.

My mom will be SO disappointed when she hears about Ghost Whisperer. But I’ll check out Nikita, at least the pilot.

7 New Genre Shows Coming to Network TV This Fall
io9.com:
The Cape, starring Dave Lyons (NBC)

Official synopsis: Lyons [plays] Vince Faraday, an honest cop on a corrupt police force, who finds himself framed for a series of murders and presumed dead. He is forced into hiding, leaving behind his wife, Dana (Jennifer Ferrin, “Life on Mars”) and son, Trip (Ryan Wynott, “Flash Forward”). Fueled by a desire to reunite with his family and to battle the criminal forces that have overtaken Palm City, Faraday becomes “The Cape” his son’s favorite comic book superhero — and takes the law into his own hands.
Additional cast: James Frain (“The Tudors”) plays billionaire Peter Fleming – The Cape’s nemesis – who moonlights as the twisted killer named Chess. Keith David (Death at a Funeral) plays Max Malini, the ringleader of a circus gang of bank robbers who mentors Vince Faraday and trains him to be The Cape; Summer Glau (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) plays Orwell, an investigative blogger who wages war on crime and corruption in Palm City; and Dorian Missick (“Six Degrees”) is Marty Voyt, a former police detective and friend to Faraday.
Cheese factor: Well, he turns himself into a superhero from his son’s comic books. So…

Fringe Is Becoming The Show That Lost Wishes It Could Be
io9.com: J.J. Abrams has unleashed two television shows about faith and science and strange reflections of reality. Fringe will never be as popular as Lost, but it has the potential to be far greater, as it proved last night. Spoilers below…
Thing is, I still love Lost a lot, and I’m still clinging to hope that the whole “two thousand years of sibling rivalry” storyline culminates in something amazing. But I can’t remember the last time Lost made me feel quite as exhilarated as last night’s Fringe. Maybe it was partly because Fringe managed to work so many character beats and emotional moments into an hour, it felt like enough drama for ten Lost episodes. Or maybe it was because of the episode’s loopy twists and turns, which kept knocking me off balance.

6 amazing sci-fi TV shows ruined by their freaky finales
scifiwire.com: Like a spreading bowel infection, the end of a sci-fi TV series can fatally infect every previous episode. This happens when a finale retcons the mythos in such a way that every episode in the series is negatively affected. Watching cherished episodes becomes a sickening reminder of the final truth, like looking at your family photos after learning that your grandmother is a seven-headed alien who snatched your parents at birth.
Quantum Leap
The Show:
Dr. Sam Beckett leaps into some unwilling fool’s troubled past to fix their future. Dr. Sam prays to the cruel deity that spun him into this body-snatching roulette wheel, hoping against hope that his next leap will be the leap home.
The Ending:
After the finale ends, the narrator pisses all over our hopes and dreams by telling us that he never gets home.

Heroes canceled (wow), Smallville back for more (yay). I must admit that I didn’t watch the last season of Heroes, some of my favorite characters got killed and things changed. As for Smallville I’m still loyal to it. I just want Superman and Lois to get together.
What are some of your favorite TV show finales that went wrong?
Are you happy that V has second season? Are you a fan?

VAMPIRE DIARIES NEWS FEB 24TH ALIAS/HEROES STAR JOINS THE CAST
Author: Dawn | Filed under: News Blog, TV Show News‘Heroes’ star joins ‘Vampire Diaries’
David Anders has signed up to star in The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, reports Entertainment Weekly.
The 28-year-old actor, who previously portrayed Adam on Heroes, has reportedly landed a multi-episode arc on the supernatural drama.

Anders will play Elena and Jeremy’s uncle Jonathan Gilbert, who arrives in Mystic Falls to “cause some trouble” for the locals.
His name has been mentioned in previous episodes, and the character debuted earlier this season via flashback but was played by Joe Knezevich.
Anders, who bowed out of 24 in Monday night’s episode, makes his first Diaries appearance in April.
Woot! David Anders, love him. He was such a great baddie in Alias. I was sad when the series ended. I haven’t seen him in Heroes, was he any good?
He will be playing Elena and Jeremy’s Uncle Jonathon Gilbert in Vampire Diaries. Do you think he’s right for the part? He will definitely cause some trouble, but what kind? I wonder if he’s in possession of some interesting heirlooms? What do you think?
I’m excited for him to pop up in April. I hope they further some of the current plot and don’t keep adding new characters. It could get out of control.

TV NEWS PART 2 FEB 15TH V AND HEROES
Author: Dawn | Filed under: News Blog, TV Show NewsA Cylon becomes an alien resistance leader in V
Battlestar Galactica’s Michael Trucco is going from Cylon to lizard alien on ABC’s V, taking on the role of the mysterious resistance leader named John May, according to TVGuide.com.
![]()
“John May Lives” has been a battle cry of sorts against the Visitors in the series so far, but we’ve seen neither hide nor hair (nor alien reptilian skin) of May so far.
According to the four episodes we saw of V last fall, May is the founder and leader of the Fifth Column, the group of Vs who are against their peoples’ plans for Earth and the human race. Ryan (Morris Chestnut), a sleeper V who has been on Earth since before the Visitors arrived, once was involved in the resistance. Now he and Earthlings Erica (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Father Jack (Joel Gretsch) are attempting to resurrect the Fifth Column.

I lost interest in V a while back. Are you still watching it? If so, are you enjoying the remake?
I’m not sure which series I would save. I like Smallville but it may have run it’s course. And Heroes has sucked for a while. I used to love Heroes.
Which show would you save and why?

TV NEWS FOR FEB. 6TH: SMALLVILLE, HEROES, AND TRUE BLOOD
Author: Staar84 | Filed under: News Blog, TV Show NewsBy Graeme McMillan at io9:
Everything You Wanted To Know About Smallville’s Justice Society

Making their debut in 1940′s All-Star Comics #3, the JSA broke new ground by being comics’ first superhero team. The concept, as created by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox, was that membership in the Justice Society relied upon a character’s popularity – Namely, that any character would remain an “active” member until he or she was popular enough to get a comic of their own, at which point they’d be replaced with another character needing a popularity push. Because of this, the team’s line-up fluctuated a lot; characters like The Flash, Green Lantern, the Atom, the Spectre, Hour-Man and others passed in and out of the series, with only Hawkman appearing in every story.
Amusingly, and depressingly, enough, one character was immune from the “Own Series Means No Membership” rule – Wonder Woman, who stayed in the team, but only as their secretary. Oh, how I wish I was making that last bit up (The series holds another place in comics history besides the first superteam title; by featuring characters from both National Comics and All-American Comics before the companies were merged to form what would eventually become DC Comics in 1944, the series was also the first example of an inter-company crossover).

Does III Mean An End To Heroes?

Production Weekly is reporting that Tim Kring is working on a new series for NBC, whose working title is III, about alternate world war. Does this mean that Heroes has gone to the great cathode ray tube in the sky?
According to PW, the new series is co-created by Heroes creator Kring and Heroes executive producer Aron Eli Coleite, and will tell the story about an alternate America being invaded, leading to a third World War. With uncertainty surrounding the fate of the NBC superhero series, which finishes its fourth season on Monday, the news of this new series taking up the time of two of the show’s central brain trust may foreshadow an official announcement of Heroes‘ cancellation.

Will Alex Skarsgård’s Real Dad Play Eric’s Viking Dad on True Blood?
by Jennifer Godwin at E! Online

Who’s your daddy? That’s the question True Blood fans are asking about Alexander Skarsgård’s Viking vampire this season, as the series plans flashbacks to medieval Scandinavia that explore Eric Northman’s origins and roots. Having already introduced (and dispatched with) Eric’s vampire progenitor, Godric (Allan Hyde), the series is now casting for Eric’s human father, King Ulfrick.
Considering that the role calls for a fluent Swedish speaker who looks like he could be Alexander Skarsgård’s father, the part just has to go to Alex’s real-life dad, internationally acclaimed actor Stellan Skarsgård, right? Here’s what we’re hearing:
We asked reps for papa Skarsgård if he would be playing Ulfrick on True Blood, and they said, “He will not.”
OK, so, bah humbug to that, but if Señor Skarsgård isn’t down for the role, who else would work?
