Short Bio and Review:
Garth Jennings born 1972 in Epping, Essex – UK and Nick Goldsmith born 1971, UK have a production company named ‘Hammer & Tongs’. They made inventive music videos for Blur, Pulp and R.E.M. With their debut feature film, an adaptation of Douglas Adams’ ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’, they showed off a sweet sensibility that belied the metallurgical toughness of that name, and with the just-released ‘Son of Rambow’, they go one step further.
Some great movies have come out of the collaboration between these two people.

Short Bio and Review:
Singer was born September 17, 1965 in NYC and was adopted by Norbert and Grace Singer. He was raised in Princeton Junction New Jersey. He began making films at the age of 13. Bryan attended New York’s School of Visual Arts for filmmaking. Although Singer has dyslexia he enjoys comics and short stories. His love of comic books is evident in Superman Returns and X-Men. Singer is currently working on Battlestar Gallactica and Sellevision.
I have liked Bryan Singers’ work since I saw him answer questions on a panel at Comic-Con. He is intelligent and passionate about his work. I’m excited to follow him as he directs and produces more in the coming years.

Short Bio and Review:
Stanley Kubrick born in New York on July 26, 1928, was an American director, writer, producer, and photographer of films, and lived in England during most of the last 40 years of his career. Stanley’s father gave him a camera for his thirteenth birthday and Stanley became an avid photographer and by the age of seventeen he was offered a job as an apprentice photographer.
He had four films under his belt when he made his first UK film called Lolita in 1962, followed by 2001 Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange. He turned down the offer to direct the sequel to The Exorcist and instead made another horror film called The Shining. It is well known that Stephen King disliked the way Stanley adapted his story for the big screen.

Short Bio:
Born in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, Scott grew up in an Army family, meaning that for most of his early life his father — an officer in the Royal Engineers — was absent. Ridley’s older brother, Frank, joined the Merchant Navy when he was still young and the pair had little contact. During this time the family moved around, living in (amongst other areas) Cumbria, Wales and Germany. After the Second World War the Scott family moved back to their native north-east England, eventually settling in Teesside (whose industrial landscape would later inspire similar scenes in Blade Runner). He enjoyed watching films, and his favourites include Lawrence of Arabia, Citizen Kane and Seven Samurai. Scott studied in Teesside from 1954 to 1958, at Grangefield Grammar School, Stockton and later in West Hartlepool College of Art, graduating with a Diploma in Design. He progressed to an M.A. in graphic design at the Royal College of Art from 1960 to 1962.
He was assigned to design the second Doctor Who serial, The Daleks, which would have entailed realising the famous alien creatures. However, shortly before he was due to start work a schedule conflict meant that he was replaced on the serial by Raymond Cusick. At the BBC, Scott was placed into a director training programme and, before he left the corporation, had directed episodes of Z-Cars, its spin-off, Softly, Softly, and adventure series Adam Adamant Lives!.
In 1968 Ridley Scott and his brother Tony Scott founded Ridley Scott Associates (RSA), a film and commercial production company. Five members of the Scott family are directors, all working for RSA. Brother Tony has been a successful film director for more than two decades; sons, Jake and Luke are both acclaimed commercials directors as is his daughter, Jordan Scott. Jake and Jordan both work from Los Angeles and Luke is based in London.

Short Bio:
Alan Ball is an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, director, producer & occasional actor, who is best known for writing the screenplay for the Oscar-winning film ‘American Beauty’ & for creating the HBO original drama series ‘Six Feet Under’. He also adapted the new famous TV series ‘True Blood’ – based on the “Southern Vampire Mysteries” books by Charlaine Harris. ”When I read the books I got sort of addicted to the story,” he says. ”Charlaine created this world that is constantly surprising and funny and terrifying and sometimes really heartbreaking, and I thought it would be a television show I would watch – that’s really all I can do.” The series is produced by HBO, too in association with Ball’s production company.
