Exclusive Interview: Eric Leven Visual Effects Supervisor on THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE

While speaking to actors about the movie they’re promoting is always great, if you really want to find out why certain decisions were made behind the scenes, you’ve got to talk to the filmmakers and the crew that worked on the movie. And that’s why I think fans of the Twilight movie franchise are going to enjoy my interview with Eric Leven from Tipper Studios. Because during our extended conversation, Leven (who was the visual effects supervisor on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) discussed why the wolf effects were done a certain way, the difference between Chris Weitz and David Slade on the look of New Moon and Eclipse, is Tippet Studios working on Breaking Dawn, and we also talked about 3D and other projects like Priest and Immortals.

Twilight’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Will Be Filmed in Baton Rouge and Vancouver

Vampire stalkers better start saving their frequent flyer miles because unlike the first three installments of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn will be filmed in two locations: Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver, British Columbia.

The fourth and final book in the saga will be split into two films which will be shot simultaneously. Production starts in Louisiana this fall and then next year, once the weather has improved in Vancouver, they’ll move north to film the remaining exterior scenes.

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ stars top celebrity fan fiction list

The stars of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse are some of the main celebrities which writers of Real Person Fanfiction (RPF) like to post about, it seems.

According to one source, three of the Twilight series’ main stars have been listed atop and among the ten most written-about celebrities in the RPF world.

Number one on the list is Taylor Lautner (“Jacob Black” in the series), and Dakota Fanning (“Jane”) and Ashley Greene (“Alice Cullen”) came in sixth and seventh respectively.

I am shocked that Edward Cullen isn’t in the top 10 of the fan fiction list. It’s a total surprise to me since my favorite fan fics include him. What do you think?

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner in Canada for Reshoots for Eclipse

entertainment.gather.com: The Rumor of Eclipse release date being delayed is put to rest. They may be re-shooting, but it will still release in June. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are in Vancouver, Canada for Eclipse re-shoots this week. Pattinson arrived Wednesday afternoon (April 28) surrounded by heavy security : two bodyguards, a cast driver, and a police officer. With the movie releasing in two months, Summit Entertainment apparently thinks some work needs to be done on the film.

The Twilight Saga Eclipse is going to be a true vampire movie

likeitido.com: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are the stars of the ‘Twilight’ movies and while the main dilemma between the two consists of the fact that Edward Cullen is a vampire, neither ‘Twilight’ or ‘New Moon’ really feel like vampire movies in the traditional sense.

However, that is set to change in ‘Eclipse,’ where fans should expect to see a lot more about the vampires that are invading Bella Swans world. The Cullen family member actors spoke to the LA TIMES and said:

“This time around, you get to see their true vampire-ness,” said Peter Facinelli, who plays Carlisle Cullen.

Robert Pattinson & Nikki Reed Set for “Ellen” Appearances

Robert Pattinson won’t be the only “Eclipse” star to appear on “Ellen” before the latest installment of the “Twilight Saga” hits theaters.

Gossip Cop can confirm exclusively that Nikki Reed will be on the top talk show, too.

We’re told Reed will tape her segment on May 17, and it will air May 18.

The Twilight Saga: A note to fans from Bill Condon

Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland,

I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I’m stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you’ve probably heard, I’ve been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit – who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right.

I’m pretty busy bringing myself up to speed on what you already know by heart: I’ve read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine’s and Chris’s movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine’s notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz’s companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk – a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for “newborn” status in the universe you’ve been living inside for a few years now, but a guy’s gotta start somewhere.

I really liked how the new Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon approached the Twilighters. He seems ready to get on this crazy ride and open to the fans, guess that’s a good way to start. He is asking the fans for questions and taking comments, by far all I’ve seen where good ones and there will definitely will be no musical numbers. As a twilighter all I want right now is that they start shooting, from that point on then I’ll take my list out and ask for my favorite moments and quotes. What do you think of this note? I love how people use amazingly this drawing technique. Every detail and the shadows in the right place make it look great. The artist must have a good eye to capture the actors so similar and their expressions look amazing, even the tattoo on Jacob’s shoulder looks good. What a pencil can do. (Caro)

The artist of this does a great job at showing the emotion in Bella’s eyes. Having the picture in black and white adds even more to the drawing. They also do a great job with paying attention to detail. (Katie)

Great example of Alice and her yellow Porsche. I like how one of the expected thing fans wanted to see was the yellow Porsche scenes and it’s curious how the cars in this movie play quite an interesting role. The artist did a good job with the details of the car and Alice, she has her short pixie hair and I like how mostly all fans have a same mental image oh her. (Caro)

I absolutely love this picture! They show all the major characters in New Moon, Bella and Edward, Jacob, and The Volturi. What really gets me is how they did Jacob, having a heart in his hand and have it bleeding. Plus the colors look awesome! (Katie)

“I saw him, and I had no will to fight. It was so clear, so much more defined than any memory. My subconscious had stored Edward away in flawless detail, saving him for this final moment.” The detail in this piece is really amazing; I love the colors and the technique that they used. The emotion in Bella’s eyes is so real, as she’s realizing that she doesn’t have it in her to fight the current any longer. (Katie)

Wouldn’t we want to see the scene where Rosalie tells Edward that Bella is dead?! I know I would. And this piece shows it well, we can see the shock and pain that Edward felt and Rosalie’s breaking news. The author captured a good mental image of both characters making the scene look great. She has a really good technique. (Caro)

I always pictured her hair like that and the author captured it really well. I like the glow that her red eyes have giving her an evil look with a smile that hides her real face. The author even gave the piece a Volterra kinda background. “The wide-eyed, full-lipped face would make a Botticelli angel look like a gargoyle. Even allowing for the full crimson irises.” In my opinion a good fan portrait. (Caro)

Even though this piece isn’t colored, It still captures the Volturi wonderfully. I really like the detail she uses on their outfits, and how not all of the members are in their robes. They’re more in street clothes which would help them blend in. Jane’s outfit in particular catches my eye, the suit fits her well. (Katie)

What we liked about these pieces was that they were all based upon what the fan imagined and not based on the actors, which shows that we weren’t all that lost. Which one is your favorite? What do you think of these pieces?
