Twilight Takes Over Oscars! Kinda!

What’s an awards show these days without some teen vampires and werewolves? Nothing! So that’s why at this year’s Academy Awards, they snuck some in. The Twilight Saga: New Moon had, let’s see, zero Oscar nominations, but somehow here’s Anna Kendrick, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner attending the ritziest party of the year.

So Kendrick didn’t technically sneak in. She totally earned it, being nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Up In The Air and also presenting an award (lucky!) with Zac Efron.

But Taylor and Kristen dodged bodyguards and hid behind props to get into this thing. OK, not exactly—but did the Academy cook up a tribute to horror films just to have an excuse to put these two on stage together?

Also, Robert Pattinson couldn’t make it, but still got mentioned in Neil Patrick Harris’ opening ballad.

So now that the stars have gained access to the planet’s most exclusive party, all that’s left is to make a Twilight movie worthy of Oscar night…

See costumes and props from Oscar nominees at the Hollywood Museum

If you’re in the neighborhood of the Kodak Theatre and can’t get into the Oscars this weekend, try the next best thing. Drop by the Hollywood Museum one block away – it’s located in the Max Factor Building at 1660 N. Highland Ave., where you can see costumes and artifacts from leading nominees like “The Hurt Locker,” “The Blind Side,” “Inglourious Basterds,” “Julie & Julia,” “The Young Victoria,” “Bright Star,” “(500) Days of Summer” and “Star Trek” mixed in with treasures from Oscars past, like “Gone With the Wind,” “Ben-Hur,” “Gladiator” and even the first film to win best picture, “Wings.”

I serve as guest curator every year to organize this exhibition titled “And the Winner Is …,” which celebrates all films up for kudos throughout the award season. We even feature items from such popular films as “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “Twilight: New Moon” (yes, yes, we have a Taylor Lautner costume in addition ones worn by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) and Miley Cyrus’ concert film. Some of them were up for guild awards or even — yikes — Razzies.

No Razzies for ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon,’ Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner

A couple of weeks ago, the nominees for this year’s satirical Razzie Awards came down and showed The Twilight Saga: New Moon and its cast to be nominated in several categories.

The Razzies – of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation – are purposed at “saluting the worst that Hollywood has to offer each year.”
The Twilight Saga: New Moon was nominated for several Razzies, including “WORST REMAKE, RIP-OFF or SEQUEL,” “WORST SCREEN COUPLE of 2009″ for “Kristen Stewart & Either Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner, Twilight Saga: New Moon,” “WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR OF 2009″ for Robert Pattinson, and “WORST SCREENPLAY OF 2009.”

New Moon, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner all escaped winning in these categories (one award series that Twilight fans might not be sad to see the franchise lose at), but one person who did win a Razzie was Sandra Bullock (for The Blind Side), and, classy lady that she happens to be, she showed up to accept it herself. SOURCE

RED CARPET EXCLUSIVE: Anna Kendrick says Oscar red carpet is nothing compared to ‘Twilight’

Oscar-nominated actress Anna Kendrick told FoxNews.com where she was when the Academy Award nominations were announced.

“I was actually running. I was too nervous to watch the nominations come up,” said the “Up in the Air” star. “I waited for my roommate to text me and then I sprinted home.”

When she heard she was nominated she “celebrated with a lot of food and champagne – at 5 in the morning, it was still dark out!”

“This film has been a whole different ball game,” said Anna, who also stars in the ‘Twilight’ saga. “It was the only film I’ve done that i was the youngest person on set.”

And it turns out the young star was one of the old pros when it comes to red carpets.
“It’s a little crazy,” she said. “But once you’ve been to a ‘Twighlight’ red carpet, you’re a pro.” SOURCE

Writing the Twilight Saga: An Exclusive Interview with Melissa Rosenberg

The challenge of adapting Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga to the big screen has fallen to writer Melissa Rosenberg, who, by the end of it, will have provided the scripts for each novel. Earths Mightiest editor Edward Gross sat down for a one-on-one interview with Rosenberg, who is also co-executive producer of Dexter.

This interview, which was conducted at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles back in November, looks at the making of New Moon, Rosenberg’s collaboration with David Slade on Eclipse and what she feels she’s learned from working with Slade, Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke during the making of these films.

Chris Weitz turns down Twilight Breaking Dawn?

Now that we pretty much know that the final book in the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, is being broken into two movies (it’s not been confirmed, but there are few who don’t expect it to happen), arguably the big question remaining is just who Summit Entertainment is going to rope in to direct them.

It’s easy enough to rule out Catherine Hardwicke, who helmed the first movie, as she’s now looking to do The Girl With The Red Riding Hood with Amanda Seyfried (also, it does seem that she and Summit aren’t best of chums). David Slade, who’s putting the finishing touches to Twilight: Eclipse, is not someone Summit appears keen to re-recruit either.

Yet, Chris Weitz, the man who steered the ship on Twilight: New Moon, has been near the top of most people’s list to at least take on one of the Breaking Dawn movies. However, that idea now appears dead, as the director himself has ruled himself out of the running.

“Of course I’m interested,” he told MTV. “But I think I’m on record saying I have a 2-and-a-half-year-old son.”

“Because it’d be such a long shoot for ‘Breaking Dawn’, it kind of brings me to the edge of my physical and mental endurance. And I just don’t believe I have it in me, and I think that it’s appropriate that someone else go ahead and do it.”

Summit’s search, therefore, continues. We’d like it to take the kind of gambles that Warner Bros eventually started taking with its Harry Potter movies, ideally, but given how crucial the Twilight saga is to the fabric of Summit Entertainment, don’t be surprised if it goes for a safe choice.

We wonder what Mr Ratner is doing?

Sucking the Quileute Dry

ALL the world, it seems, has been bitten by “Twilight.” Conservative estimates place revenue generated from Stephenie Meyer’s vampire chronicles — the books, movies and merchandise — in the billion-dollar range. Scarcely mentioned, however, is the effect that “Twilight” has had on the tiny Quileute Nation, situated on a postage stamp of a reservation, just one square mile, in remote La Push, Wash.

To millions of “Twilight” fans, the Quileute are Indians whose (fictional) ancient treaty transforms young males of the tribe into vampire-fighting wolves. To the nearly 700 remaining Quileute Indians, “Twilight” is the reason they are suddenly drawing extraordinary attention from the outside — while they themselves remain largely excluded from the vampire series’ vast commercial empire.

Just last month, MSN.com issued an apology to the Quileute for intruding on its territory while videotaping a “Twilight” virtual tour in September. MSN.com sought permission from the Chamber of Commerce in nearby Forks, Wash., but didn’t pay the same courtesy to the Quileute. The video team trespassed onto a reservation cemetery and taped Quileute graves, including those of esteemed tribal leaders. These images were then set to macabre music and, in November, posted on MSN.com. The tribe quickly persuaded MSN.com to remove the Quileute images.  MORE HERE

Burger King to return with ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ endorsement after ‘New Moon’

It was hard to miss the fact that Burger King was heavily endorsed by The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Not only did the company’s products appear in the film itself, but they also sponsored a fandom-wide series of contests for BK crowns and giftcards. Not to mention, the company hosted New Moon goodies at their various franchises throughout the months surrounding and during the film’s release. You can see more of their New Moon goodies at their site here.

Well, it seems that Burger King hasn’t made plans to stop its involvement with the Twilight saga any time soon. They’ll be back for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse indeed.

According to Advertising Age, the company has signed on to promote itself through Eclipse, “for what is now being called the ‘female superfan.’”

If yesterday’s story about the Twilight fan effect upon the Volvo car industry is any indication, they may just be onto something.
Apparently, BK’s Eclipse plans have something to do with “a gaming promotion.”

Going back to New Moon, you might remember that in the books, Bella and Jessica (portrayed by Vanity Fair new Hollywood headliners Kristen Stewart and Anna Kendrick in the films) are headed to McDonald’s when she happens upon the familiar strangers that cause her initial adrenaline rush. So, for Burger King to snap up that exclusivity in promotion is very smart.

Anna Kendrick Talks About Her And Jessica’s Future After ‘Eclipse

It’s no new news that Anna Kendrick had mostly slipped under the radar in Hollywood for nearly half her adult life. Before she stole all her scenes in both “Twilight” and “New Moon” and garnered an Oscar nomination for her role in “Up in the Air,” Anna was the third youngest Tony nominee ever and made a name for her quirky humor in “Rocket Science.”

But it’s what’s going on after her success that is what is interesting. Jason Reitman wrote the role of Natalie specifically for Anna in “Up in the Air” and, though she still auditioned for the role, it really was hers to start with. She admitted in a new interview with Reuters that she’s been too caught up in “Up in the Air” and awards season to focus on work, but she is still deservedly receiving some A-list job opportunities.

Last summer, Anna was offered a role in an untitled Seth Rogen and James McAvoy comedy for Mandate Pictures, which starts shooting later this month. Mandate gave her the part without even an audition. MORE HERE

I really feel bad for the Quileute tribe in Washington. Unnecessary attention is being thrust upon these innocent people without significant cause. These people have been exploited and aren’t even asked permission or getting any money for the trouble they have been through since the Twilight Saga became so widespread. At least if people are going to trespass on their property, I think the courteous thing to do is ask first.

I am so proud of Anna Kendrick and where her life has been going since ‘Twilight’. I think it is very difficult to get out there and she came from such a small role and now look at her. I can’t wait to see her more in future films.

Word-of-mouth: Twilight, Girl Scout cookies, and fun Web sites

What Life in Perspective board members are talking about this week:

‘TWILIGHT’ HUMOR: It is with some chagrin that I admit to having enjoyed the “Twilight” saga. But here’s a way to enjoy the stories with a twist.
It’s “Blogging Twilight,” an uproarious series of articles by SparkNotes.com contributor Dan Bergstein. Bergstein reluctantly agreed to read the novels and chronicles his journey by posting laugh-out-loud musings on each chapter. He frequently expresses longings that Jacob will, at any moment, whip out a jet pack and kick vampire butt.

Best of all, each installment is accompanied by a doodle in which Emmet frequently sports superhero capes. The blog is so funny that it can entertain even those who haven’t read the books. MORE HERE

Muse: ‘Twilight Films Have Helped Us Break America’

Muse believe their appearance on the soundtrack to The Twilight Saga films has helped them win fans in America. The band have contributed songs to the opening two films in the popular vampire franchise, including the recent hit New Moon. Speaking to Asia One, bassist Chris Wolstenholme said the group were originally unaware about The Twilight Saga’s cult following.

“I was vaguely aware of the books (before author Stephenie Meyer approached us) but we didn’t think anything of it at the time,” he said. ”The next thing you know, it’s Twilight fever. It’s good because it has made a difference for us in trying to break into America.”

Muse’s audiences in the US have continued to grow in recent years and the band are due to return for six dates, starting next month. The jaunt includes a gig at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 5. SOURCE

Taylor Lautner narrowly avoids Razzie Award nomination for ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’

Sixth place is the charm for Taylor Lautner.

According to a Los Angeles Times blog, the Grand Rapids-born star of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” was a near-miss nominee for Worst Supporting Actor for the annual Razzie Awards. “New Moon” also narrowly avoided making the final five for Worst Picture of 2009.

The teen actor did make the ballot, however, under the Worst Screen Couple category: “Kristin Stewart and either Robert Pattinson or Taylor Whatz-His-Fang,” according to the official Razzie list. They’ll be competing against “Any Two (or More) Jonas Brothers” for “The Jonas Brothers 3-D Concert Experience,” “Shia Lebouf and Either Megan Fox or Any Transformer” for “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” among others.
So no love for Lautner, ironically a week-and-a-half before his next film, the ensemble comedy “Valentine’s Day,” opens. SOURCE

Peter Facinelli Reveals Twilight ‘Eclipse’ Fight Training Fiasco

Peter Facinelli reveals Twilight ‘ Eclipse’ fight training Fiasco. Peter Facinelli who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the popular Twilight,New Moon, and Eclipse movies, recently gave some revealing information about the intense training that went on behind-the-scenes of “Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” According to nymag.com, Peter said he was really excited about “Eclipse,” and they had workout competitions on the set.

He stated, “I’m really excited about Eclipse, we did a lot of training for that movie, like six weeks of fight training. It was funny because it became almost like an in-house competition and everyone was always in the gym or working out. Sometimes we’d work out like three times a day. One time, I was in my apartment and I was going down to do my workout, and the elevator doors opened and Kellan Lutz was in there doing push-ups. I was like, ‘Okay, Kellan, you win! You win the competition!’” SOURCE

Fallon, of course, has had some fun at Pattinson’s expense in the past, showing videos of a “bothered” “Pattinson” (played by Fallon), airing grievances from a tree.

Yesterday Gossip Cop reported that Pattinson and de Ravin will be appearing together on “The View” on March 2.

Twilight’s Anna Kendrick is ‘Up in the air’ with award nomination!

The Twilight saga has introduced many new talented stars, one of those shining at this moment is Anna Kendrick for her role in the critically acclaimed movie Up In The Air with her mega co-star hunk George Clooney.

She has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress, and has earned an Academy Award nomination for her role of prim and professional go-getter, Natalie Keener. The 24-year-old was a breath of fresh air in a movie that was otherwise gloomy and depressing.

Kendrick was bitten by the acting bug at the age of ten, when her parents would allow her and her brother Michael Cook Kendrick, also an actor, to take the bus from their home state of Maine, to New York City to attend auditions. Some of her other work includes films; Camp and Rocket Science.

In 1998, she was the youngest person nominated for the prestigious Tony Award for her role in a Broadway musical, High Society. She is also a Golden Globe and Oscar nominee.

She will resume her role as Jessica Stanley in Stephenie Meyer’s mega buster Twilight saga, Eclipse which opens in theaters June 30, 2010. SOURCE

The autographs cost $25 and photos will be on sale for $40. The Promenade is located at 40820 Winchester Rd. in Temecula. If it gets rained out, everything will be re-located to the lower level JCPenney court. SOURCE

David Slade says ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is in ‘phase 1′ studio screening

Despite what might’ve been murmured around the forum rumor mill, the first screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – by “anyone out of editorial” that is – is happening now, according to a recent update issued by the film’s director, David Slade.

According to him, today is a “big day” as the first “director’s cut” is at “phase 1″ with the studio’s first screening of the film.

After months and months of reading Slade’s countless updates about the post-production process (which seems, by the way, incredibly taxing and tedious), it seems that things are finally coming to a head and the editing process is nearing completion.

A director’s cut of a film, of course, is not the final cut (and it probably won’t even be made available to the public). The final cut is usually reserved for someone in the studio, who can make a few adjustments here and there to make the film more presentable in the box office. Those changes, for the most part, are not usually drastic. (Obviously, with varying studio interests and agendas, that statement is a heavily case-by-case matter. Who’s to say how many changes will be necessary for Eclipse.)

For the meantime, though, this news means that things are progressing in the completion arena. While that doesn’t necessarily give us any indication of when we should expect the first trailer for the film (though prior speculations may still be applicable), it does mean that the film is that much closer to being finished and ready for the theaters!

Very exciting, huh? Oh to be a fly on the screening room wall . . . SOURCE

Robert Pattinson to face the ladies panel on ‘The View’

The Twilight star Robert Pattinson will appear on the ABC morning talk show The View on March 2 for promoting his forthcoming movie Remember Me. He will be facing questions from the ladies panel consisting of Joy Behar, Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasslebeck, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sherri Sheperd. The 23 year old actor will be accompanied by his co-star Emile De Ravin who also features on the television series Lost.

The movie Remember Me is a romantic movie which also stars Pierce Brosnan who plays Pattinson’s father in the movie. Pattinson plays Tyler Roth a troubled New York student who shares an unpleasant relationship with his father after his brother’s suicide. But he finds solace after meeting Ally Craig played by Emile de Ravin.

For the first time Pattinson will be paying a leading role in a drama after achieving international fame by playing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie series. Pattinson’s fan will be glad to catch him in a non vampire role and will be seen romancing as normal human being. Remember Me will release in theatres in March and the third Twilight sequel i.e. Eclipse is expected to release in June. SOURCE

Are you or someone you know getting any ‘Twilight’ swag this Valentine’s Day? I really like the selection at Cafepress!!

Two biggest things I am excited for right now: ‘Eclipse’ and ‘The View’. They are keeping ‘Eclipse’ in such wraps its driving me bananas! But that only makes the reward that much sweeter! And I can’t wait to see the ladies of ‘The View’ fawn all over the hunky Rob Pattinson. I WILL be tuning in on March 2nd!!

New edition of ‘New Moon’ DVD revealed for Best Buy

As expected, at least one new edition of the DVD for The Twilight Saga: New Moon has come about. Before, Best Buy’s listing for the DVD was rather sparse, and now, thanks to the wonderful research of some Twilight fans, it is known that Best Buy will be offering a Steel Case Edition of the DVD.

It is supposedly still unavailable on the store’s website, but it is said to include a free cell phone skin upon pre-ordering the DVD.

No word yet on when the Best Buy steel case edition will be available for pre-order.

In the meantime, head on over to the list of what else is available to see what your known options are right now for those stores which are accepting pre-orders.

Bear in mind, though, that things are liable to change or be updated between now and the DVD’s release. That’s not to say, though, that you shouldn’t jump on an opportunity you find fitting with your needs, just a plea for you to be choosey as I have a feeling that there are more possibilities than just the standard two-disc edition and this. Twilight’s Kellan Lutz Puts Stuntman Out of Work

When we caught up with Kellan Lutz at the Calvin Klein and Los Angeles Nomadic Division event last night, we wondered what he enjoyed most about filming the next movie in the Twilight saga, Eclipse, due out this summer. “When I could do my own stunts,” he told us. “I annoyed the producers enough to be able to say, ‘I have three lines in this movie.’ That was New Moon. Thank God, I have more in Eclipse. But I love doing stunts, I love getting hurt.” View more tough guys — and girls — HERE

Robert Pattinson Says ‘Remember Me’ Role Is ‘Just Different’

Pattinson steps out of the shadow of his brooding “Twilight” character Edward Cullen to play Tyler, a slightly misguided college student who’s dealing with a family tragedy when he falls in love with a young woman, Ally, played by Emilie de Ravin.

In a new video posted on the film’s Facebook page, Pattinson discusses his decision to tackle the role of the rebellious New York youth. “Initially, I remember reading the script and thinking … um … I like the flow of the dialogue and stuff,” he said. “It was just different.”

Pattinson, who will later this year reprise his role as Edward in “Eclipse,” added that Tyler had a certain “it” factor about him that he hadn’t seen in many other leading male roles in current films. “It seems like in a lot of ways main characters in other movies, when there is a young guy who is the lead he always seems like a vessel, [he] always [has] to be so naive and ridiculously innocent so the audience can feel that with [him] in the story,” he explained. “Tyler didn’t feel like that. He was a very specific character.”

In a recent chat with MTV News, de Ravin spoke about her instant connection with Pattinson. “I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along and had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by,” she said. “Obviously you’re acting, but you want to have that connection with somebody. We had it.” SOURCE

STEPHENIE MEYER HINTS THAT SHE MAY RETURN TO THE “TWILIGHT” SERIES

from mygloss.com:

Stephenie Meyer abandoned the series after a rough draft of Midnight Sun, a companion novel to the Twilight Saga was leaked online. Midnight Sun was a retelling of the Twilight novel but from the perspective of Edward Cullen rather than Bella Swan. After the leak Meyer chose to focus on non-Twilight related work but it appears Meyer hasn’t turned her back on the series after all. Stephenie told Entertainment Weekly:

I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors.

ROGER EBERT PREDICTS OSCAR NOD FOR ANNA KENDRICK

from examiner.com:

Roger Ebert, famed long-time film historian and critic, has just issued his predictions for this year’s Oscar nominations (which are due Tuesday), and guess who was on it?

Yep, that’s right: Anna Kendrick.

Kendrick (who portrays “Jessica Stanley” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has definitely been vetted by a critic or two for her work as “Natalie” in Up In The Air over the past few months, and Ebert’s assessment of her potential for film’s highest honor is due, he says, to the fact that she is “so young and earnest in the same film.”

Anna Kendrick has been nominated for a great many awards over the past few months, including a SAG Award, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe.

SUNDANCE LOVES ROCK ‘N’ ROLL WITH JOAN JETT AND “THE RUNAWAYS”

Source: AP

from cantonrep.com via AP:

Joan Jett kicked open doors for women to rock out in a man’s music world. So when the time came for a film drama on how she got her start, Jett wanted to be on hand to help make sure the story was told right.

Jett was an executive producer for “The Runaways,” a Sundance Film Festival premiere that spins the raucous tale of her first band in the 1970s. The all-girl group of teenagers — branded as a gimmick at the time — left behind some hard-rocking music in their short time together.

“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart plays Jett and her “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” colleague Dakota Fanning plays Cherie Currie, the Runaways’ lead singer. The film captures the hurdles they faced at a time when the notion of female guitar gods was practically unheard of.

SUCCESS OF “TWILIGHT” BOOKS LEADS TO BOOM IN FANTASY NOVEL SALES

from telegraph.co.uk:

Sales of sci-fi and fantasy have grown by almost 20 per cent in the past five years with industry analysts identifying the ‘Twilight Effect’ as the main reason.

The 2008 film Twilight, which was released on DVD in Britain last April, was based on the series of vampire romance novels of the same name by the American author Stephanie Myers.

It was followed by the release of the second film in the Twilight Saga, New Moon, in November, with a graphic novel due out in March.

Researchers at Mintel found that almost one in three older children and teenagers enjoy sci-fi/fantasy books, up from 18 per cent in 2005. Overall, over one in ten readers go on to read a title after seeing the film or TV version.

Other writers whose sales have increased on the back of the popularity of Twilight include Neil Gaiman, an English fantasy writer whose work includes The Sandman graphic novel. His novel Stardust was turned into a film starring Robert De Niro, Claire Daines and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The “Valentine’s Day” movie looks like it could be good.  The ensemble cast is huge, too.

It’s nice to see that the Twilight fanbase is so supportive of the actors.  Many people predicted backlash because of Kristen’s role and the topless scenes.  I hope that they can get a distribution deal worked out for the film.  From what I’ve read, it looks like it has a compelling storyline.

I hope that people don’t go crazy with Stephenie Meyer’s quote to EW and start making assumptions that she’s working on Midnight Sun or new books.  She’s probably too busy to really focus on much of anything at this point – especially if she’s providing any assistance to Melissa Rosenberg for the “Breaking Dawn” script.  It’s not like’s she’s ever really left the world of her vampires anyway.  I hope that she does return to writing about them some day.  I would love to see the story in print from Edward’s POV and then companion stories from the POV of the other Cullens…past, future, present…

Good luck to Anna Kendrick!  I’d also love to see “Possibility” from the New Moon Soundtrack get a nod, too.  There’s been a lot of buzz around that song and I love it – especially after I saw how Chris Weitz used it in the film.

I am really looking forward to “The Runaways”.  I’ve mentioned this time and time again, but these chicks really did change the face of rock music for women.  They were the original “Girl Power!”

Hmmm…I’m not really surprised by the study that shows that Twilight has resulted in a boom in fantasy novel sales.  I started reading more fantasy/supernatural books after reading it.  How about you?  Did reading Twilight open you to a new genre?

from zap2it.com:

There are some very hot stars heading for the Sundance Film Festival, held in snowy Park City, Utah, which runs from Thursday, Jan. 21 through the end of the month.

“Gossip Girl” hunk Chace Crawford, Katie Holmes, Dakota Fanning, “Mad Men” star John Hamm, Kate Mara, Malin Akerman, Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba and Julia Robert’s niece, Emma Roberts will be making the trek up the slopes to support their indie films

But “Twilight Saga” star Kristen Stewart has two films at the festival — she plays 80’s rocker Joan Jett in “The Runaways” and a troubled stripper in “Welcome to the Riley’s” — which puts her in the running to be Miss Sundance 2010, according to our cinema scooper Greg Ellwood over at HitFix.com, who also has a great gallery of some of the most hotly anticipated Sundance films.

PETER FACINELLI NERVOUS ABOUT STEAMY SEX SCENES IN ‘BREAKING DAWN’

from momlogic.com:

Peter Facinelli, says he wants producers to keep sex scenes in “Breaking Dawn” (the fourth and final film) PG-13 — so his daughter can see the movie! And, for those of you that read the book, you know that when Bella and Edward finally get together, um, it’s anything but PG. “I have a 12-year-old daughter. She’s a fan, and I’d want her not to feel left out or awkward,” says the 37-year-old dad who is married to actress Jennie Garth, adding, “Hopefully it’s a PG-13 type of situation. I’m sure the producers and directors know what they want — and especially what they are doing — but I’m sure they don’t want to alienate fans.”

TWILIGHT INSPIRES CLOTHING LINE

from msn.com:

A ‘Twilight’-inspired clothing range is being launched. American fashion label BB Dakota is creating the line after one of its jackets was used in the vampire film. However the canvas coat, worn by Kristen Stewart’s character Bella during a romantic scene with Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen, was not supposed to be used at all. ‘Twilight’ costume designer Wendy Chuck said: ‘I was planning to use the brown hoodie for that sequence but the director of photography hated the fact that her hair and the jacket were both brown and felt she got lost in it.’ Following on from the film, BB Dakota re-branded the coat the ‘Twilight’ jacket and is to carry on its success with a full range this autumn.

“I’m a crazy, obsessed fan. I went to see the first movie on opening day,” she said. “But I felt left out because everyone in the audience had ‘Twilight’ t-shirts and I didn’t. So I have ‘Twilight’ T-shirts now. And have you seen those ‘Twilight’ water bottles? I have one of those…”

I’m looking forward to hearing the reports from Sundance and how everyone receives Kristen’s performances in “Meet the Rileys” and “The Runaways”.  I think that she is quite talented and keeps getting a bum rap from the Twilight haters.

I like that Peter Facinelli is concerned about keeping the movies PG13 so that his own kids can see the movies and I’m also impressed by the fact that he doesn’t let his own kids watch just anything.  Comments like these speak volumes about the kind of parents that he and Jennie are to their girls.

I thought that the comments from Abigail Breslin were so cute and refreshing.  Too many of the actresses in Hollywood are too serious for their own good.  I like that she’s just like every other teenager, yet able to tackle serious roles in her films.

Who says that small roles aren’t worth pursuing?  Kudos to Anna Kendrick on her BAFTA nomination.  Best of luck to Anna and Kristen for their nominations!

Are you looking forward to seeing any (or all) of the upcoming films featuring the Twilight stars? Which one(s)?

Will you be purchasing the Blu-Ray version of New Moon?

Are you going to send a love note to Taylor Lautner?  I’m just going to have to pass on that one.  Seeing how I’m biologically old enough to be his mother, that’s just a little too creepy for me (and probably illegal in some states).

Have the fashions from the Twilight movies inspired the way that you dress?
