OBS PRESENTS ‘PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF’ BOOK CLUB

Hi everyone! Just as 2009 came and went so fast, so did the month of January. That means it’s time for another Book Club.  In February we’ll be presenting “Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan, the first in a series of five novels dealing with Greek Gods and monsters. We couldn’t think of a better month to highlight this book, as it was adapted by Disney into a movie by the same name, that is to be released in February.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Percy Jackson, a twelve year old boy discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea and earthquakes after he is attacked by one of his teachers. He learns that the legendary beings of Greek mythology still exist including monsters, Titans and also the Olympians (Greek gods). Turns out the Olympians dwell in Olympus which is now housed on the mythical 600th floor of the Empire State Building.
