Summary:
Vampire hunter, Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel, Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil…

A vampire has attacked a girls’ school—the assault one of sheer, vicious madness—and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders.

The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear.

An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed…

Review:
If you have yet to read anything by Nalini Singh, now is time to find your way to pick up her Guild Hunter series. This is the third installment and it was an adventure. As in the previous two books, there is action, suspense, and romance. We have watched Elena and Raphael battle Vampires and Archangels, all the while trying to figure out their relationship.

Archangel’s Consort has put Elena and Raphael back in the middle of another battle. Someone is killing vampires and as the evidence points in one direction it turns out the other direction is where they should be looking. During this time Elena discovers a few things about her family that surprise her. Her relationship with Raphael seems to have settled as much as it can.

This books seems to have more intimate moments between Raphael and Elena which is nice because of their intensity. There is also more information on Raphael’s Seven and you get to see a little about them, just enough to leave you wanting more.

I would most definitely recommend this book and series to anyone who likes to swept away and enthralled  in the world and characters that Nalini Singh has painted in vivid colors.
