Review:

Almost as good as the first one. That really means it was better than most of the other movies I’ve seen lately. Robert Downey Jr. is funny as always, and still kicking ass. Of course, Tony isn’t the only one kicking ass in this one, but I don’t want to spoil anything. We get to meet our villain right away, while he’s watching the news report of Tony admitting he’s Iron Man (our only bit of back story). After some major theatrics and showing off new technology (tempered glass monitors…want!) we get into the action. There are so many new characters in this movie, so we don’t get a lot of information about all of them, just hints for the future. Scarlett Johansson was awesome throughout the movie, and I’m looking forward to her coming back for the next one and The Avengers movie. Thankfully, Pepper is much less naive and annoying as well.

My only complaint (and it’s tiny) is the quality of some of the CG, but only because the first movie set the bar SO high. In the first one, it was impossible to tell when it was really the suit and when it was CG. This time you could tell in some scenes that it was CG. But even then, it’s still great.

On a side note, there are a couple clues about the upcoming Avengers movie. One during the movie, towards the end, but you’ll have to watch after the credits if you want a hint on another.
