OBS PRESENTS: MOVIE POSTERS FOR TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE

Brought to you by OBS Staff member Krystal

Here at Open Book Society we like to see things from every angle. Movie posters are what sells people’s opinions of a film and like a book cover it has to be appealing. Also like books, movie posters can look differently depending on where they are made. Whole campaigns revolve around films, everything from viral web content to poster’s for every character in the movie.

International Poster – French

A Chicago librarian suffers from a rare genetic disorder that sends him hurtling through time whenever he is under extreme duress; despite the fact that he vanishes at inordinately frequent and lengthy intervals, he attempts to build a stable future with the beautiful young heiress he loves. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams star in this dramatic fantasy, which is directed by Robert Schwentke and based on the best-selling book by author Audrey Niffenegger. (From allmovie.com)

International Poster – German

So I decided not to show any US versions this week because the French version of the international poster had a little bit extra. The flowery border and the highlight behind the T was added for their version and is not present on any other poster. I personally think this adds something endearing to the already sweet poster of Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana, making it my favorite.

What do you think of these posters? Which is your favorite?

I forgot how cool Back to the Future was, but I have seen all three on HBO recently and they are still great movies.
