Recap from Live Half-Blood Prince Screening with Dan Radcliffe

As posted below (and noted if you were following our Twitter earlier today) actor Dan Radcliffe took part in the BD Live community screening via of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Joining him was producer David Barron, filling in for an ailing David Yates who is suffering from the flu and together, they provided fans from around the world with an assortment of news, reflections, thoughts and answers about the Harry Potter series. Of special interest were the comments on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, as we heard directly from David and Dan that the split of the two films is NOT YET Set, and they also want to surprise the fans where it will be.

-Dan has reflected, said 5 (OotP) is favorite, due in part to presence of Gary Oldman.
-Dan would love to play Sirius Black if had chance to play another part
-Dan is not rushing new projects right now. Is focused on HP 7 at moment, says would love to go back on stage one day
-Dan Radcliffe says again would love to have Harry’s glasses after the filming is done.
-Reflecting on Alan Rickman (as Spinners End scene played) Dan says he is ‘rather wonderful’ as Snape, dry sense of humor.
-Attack on the Burrow discussion. Dan loves this scene, DB says this was used to encapsulate world outside Hogwarts was in danger
-Discussion now on cutting scenes,(or adding as in the burrow) have to get to the plot its a hard choice
-DH Epilogue, the actors will play themselves 19 years later, would be wrong not to let them complete this journey
-Voldemort is fave dark wizard for both

Rare Alan Rickman interview on Harry Potter series, Snape & Deathly Hallows

In a rather rare interview, actor Alan Rickman opened up about working on the Harry Potter series and his involvement in it as Professor Severus Snape. During the sit-down chat, which took place this past Monday at the Hudson Union Society, Alan explained about what brought him to play the role of Snape, working with Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron, Mike Newell, and David Yates, how much he would allude to in regards to what is left to shoot in Deathly Hallows, and much more.

Natalie Portman to star in, produce ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’; movie of best-selling book

Natalie Portman is taking on zombies – and Jane Austen.
Portman is set to star in and produce a film based on the best-selling book, “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” reports Variety.com.

The mash-up book by Seth Grahame-Smith revisits Jane Austen’s classic novel “Pride and Prejudice,” adding flesh-eating zombies and taking other significant liberties with the plot. The book was published in April 2009 by Quirk Books, a company known for taking public domain novels and blending them with fanboy favorites and pop-culture elements, like zombies, ninjas and sea monsters.

Avatar, Harry Potter 6 among 15 Oscar effects contenders

The films in alphabetical order are: Angels & Demons; Avatar (pictured); Coraline; Disney’s A Christmas Carol; District 9; G-Force; G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra; Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince; Sherlock Holmes; Star Trek; Terminator Salvation; Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen; 2012; Watchmen; and Where The Wild Things Are.

Members of the Academy’s visual effects branch executive committee who selected the semi-finalists, will whittle the list down to seven in early January.
